Jennifer was finally done sleeping off New Year’s Eve and going through her late, late, late morning training regimen. This would be as good a time as any, she decided, for one of her favorite pastimes, lingering in cafes, luckily the wallets behind GCW had provided for her once again.
She showed up as the afternoon traffic was picking up, but using all the skills she’d picked up... well nowhere in particular and thinking back to her post-Christmas adventure with Andrew Rose she deftly cut through them all. She claimed a table with a nice view of the street which she kept her eyes fixed on as she waited.
A few minutes later a waitress brings her the coffee she managed to shout for as she walked in and she goes to work on it with the cream and sugar as she scans the room.

(OOC: Not sure I can reply to this, I was looking through the rules, seeing if I was restricted from posting anywhere, but couldn't find anything. I'll delete this if I can't.)
It had been a while since Shelby was last in Chicago, in fact, she couldn't remember the last time she was in the Windy City. As she pulled herself into the cafe, she swiftly took off her light jacket, and pulled it over her left shoulder, revealing her fairly comfortable faded grey sweatshirt which bared a small black and white Canadian flag on the upper right-hand corner. Her dirty-blonde hair was hidden by a generic black beanie, and she was wearing fairly baggy blue jeans, enough to hide her figure.
She looked around the cafe, looking for any place to sit, and spotted what seemed to be open table near the window. "There we go Shelby," she thought to herself, "A nice comfortable place to sit so you can think things through..."[/color] As she got closer to the table, the wall hiding the second half of the table began to reveal another person sitting at it. Shelby didn't pay-attention however while she was closing her eyes, slowly sliding her beanie off her head. When she got the empty chair, she quite boyishly plopped down, and let out a heavy sigh. "You have to quit tiring yourself out like this Shelby," she said to herself, "It's just not heal-"
Shelby stopped mid-sentence, for she noticed someone was sitting right across from her, at the same table. "Oh gee, I'm sorry," she replied, quickly sitting back up, "I didn't see you because of the wall, and well...I'm sorry."

Andrew had grown tired of dodging traffic, as Jennifer had been obviously the more adept of the two of them during their Christmas outing in the madness of the sales. It was exciting... and heart pounding at the same time.
He finally eludes the final vehicle, pushing his way through the glass doors of the cafe. Some snow still lingered from the Holiday hammering that the region had taken, and he shook bits of snow off of his jacket as he entered, removing it and hanging it up. Underneath, he was wearing skin tight UnderArmour clothing underneath, and a pair of wind pants. A work out was in his future, but for now? He was stopping and taking a break. He removes his shades, placing them in the pocket of his jacket and heading into the cafe. Smiling as he saw the bright beacon of pink hair... sitting very close to an attractive, dirty blond woman as well. He smiled, putting his hands in his pockets and approaching them, plucking the earbuds of his MP3 player out of his ears.
"Good afternoon, Jennifer...
And to your friend... my name is Andrew Rose... and you are...?"

Shelby jumped, she wasn't expecting someone to sneak in behind her. She quickly turns around and greets herself, "Hello, I'm uhh..." she places her hand behind her head nervously, trying to gain some confidence in herself, "...I'm Shelby Steele, pleasure to meet you." She extends her hand for a handshake before realizing she hadn't introduced herself to the person sitting behind her. "Again, sorry," she says while turning around, forgetting to actually shake Andrew's hand, and extending it to Jennifer. "As you probably just heard, I'm Shelby Steele. Pleasure to meet you."

He followed Shelby's reach towards Jen, meeting eyes with her...
"Mind if I sit down with you guys before I go to mess with fate again?"

She meets Shelby’s grasp and gives her a quick shake.
Jennifer Drew, and don’t worry about it. You made me feel popular, which I just can’t get enough of.
Jennifer motions for him to pull up a chair.
Yeah sure, everyone’s cool to stay. It’ll be fun, well more fun than that training thing I made u... I mean let you in on.

Shelby lets out a sigh of relief as she takes her seat, "I really didn't mean jump in like this, I honestly didn't see you." She then leaned back in her chair, relaxing her back, and quickly realized she had completely ignored Andrew's handshake. She quickly extended her hand out again, "Sorry." she quietly said, giving him a nervous smile. "I'm usually not in this much of a mess.

"Don't worry about it..."
He smiles, taking her hand and shaking it before sliding into the booth next to her. He didn't want to sound cocky... but he was used to women doing this around him...
Mostly from his days in Houston where everybody knew who he was and the gold-diggers came out to play.
"Jen, I swear to god you're a life-saver... I only almost got killed by a taxi once on here, instead of the almost herd stampede I narrowly escaped on our dangerously dumb day..."

Hey, saving lives what I do. Don’t mention it. Actually, do mention it, like all the time.
She leans back so she can see both of them and enjoy the interplay then takes another sip.
Sorry, we should probably let her in on things, shouldn’t we? You know, so she doesn’t think we’re messing with her head, trying to disorient her even more. He’s talking about our harrowing post-Christmas shopping run and me showing him how to dodge big city traffic, very kung fu.

Shelby nods, "Be it post, or pre-Christmas shopping, the long haul through town is always going to be a battlefield." She then pulls her beanie out of her sweatshirt pocket, and begins twirling it around her right index finger, "I'm not the most masterful of drivers, so I've had my close-calls, especially this last Christmas season." She sighs, "Having five brothers, all with unique interests, really puts a toll on all your saved money."

A rare, "I'm glad I'm rich" moment from him. He chuckles a little bit, actually thankful he doesn't have to know...
"I mean... I'm sure there's good reason to run people over like crazy and all for the sake of a present... but, yeah. I haven't had to have the strain of the holidays be a stress on me personally or finances... Don't know how bad that'd be. I hear about it all the time, though..."

I figured it’d be good to show him how us salt of the earth working folk have to live.We have to keep him grounded you know.
So, five brothers that’s gotta be tough, plus it sounds like you have to trek through the whole mall a couple of times to get your shopping done. Where do you fall in that line?

Shelby then lets out a heavy sigh, "It's like a workout basically, only it's not as enjoyable, considering all the bags you have to carry as your dance your way through people, and through outlets." She then stops slouching in her seat, and sits up a bit, "As I said, each one of my brothers has his unique interests, and sometimes I have to surf my way through a outlet twice, because I forgot one little thing!" She settles herself down a bit before continuing, "It's definitely mess when I step inside a record store. One likes Queen, while another can't get enough of AFI, while another loves his Britney Spears. Yes, Britney Spears, and each one of my brothers is over 30 years old. So try and figure out the age difference there."
She pauses and continues, "And the two oldest already have a family started, so you can't forget about the kids, and their wives. It's quite the family gathering during Christmas, let me tell you."
Shelby finds herself slouching again, and quickly fixes her posture, "Do any of you have a family like mine?"

"Only child myself... and I keep away from a lot of people as friends... so that cuts down on the holiday shopping, thankfully. I might have someone brewing that's going to take a nice chunk of change out of me soon, as well as shopping patience and actually putting thought into something...
... that's kinda scary..."
