What do I need to open such files btw what to download them. I am not sure as it looks like I need some program to do that ... but no clue what

You need a program called "BitTorrent" in order to fully download the item in particular.

Follow this link to download and install. When done double click the torrent file to begin the download.

It may start off slow at first, and will either pick up (and reach very high download speeds) or stay that way (and become very slow), all depending how many people (known as seeders) already have the torrent downloaded and kept on their system.

I use Azureus myself to download. I had to get it off Limewire PRO since they want you to buy it now. Limewire's newer versions also allow you to get torrents as well.

just be careful as some of the torrent softwares contain spyware and other nasties, I used utorrent but the latest version has spyware in it so if you can get 1.5 and not 1.6.
