Name: Shelby Steele
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Entrance Music: "Stronger" - Dandelium
Fighting Specialty: Submission/Technical
Finishing Maneuver: Northern Lights Suplex 1 (Picture Perfect Lights) / California Dream (Maple Syrup)
Bio:
Shelby Steele was born on December 10th, 1979. She lived the normal life of your average Canadian-born citizen. Her father was the owner of a small chain of convenient stores, and her mother was just your average middle school teacher. Throughout her life, she's been deemed a "tomboy," due to her many actions as a "risk-tasker," and doing things usual girls don't necessarily do, such as wrestling with her five older brothers, Stephen, Brett, Christopher, Zachary, and Tommy, listed from oldest to youngest respectively.
Her brothers loved professional wrestling, and because of this, Shelby feel in love with the sport as well. All five of her brothers wanted to be professional wrestlers when they grew up, sadly, only two ever achieved their dream, Christoper, and Zachary, and even then, they never got bumped up past their mediocre tag-team success. However, it was because of her two brothers, that Shelby got her chance in the wrestling spotlight.
Her closest brother, Zachary, had introduced her to the world of independent wrestling some-years later. Shelby was only nineteen when Zach decided it was time for someone else to try and make that "Steele" name famous, and figured since his older brothers were all involved in their own lives, that Shelby would be the family's last chance at fame.
Shelby first started as a manger for Zachary's short-lived singles career. The crowd loved her reactions as matches continued, and eventually, Shelby found herself involved in a tag-team with Sarah Kennedy, with her brother Zachary as their manager. Zach would soon grow tired of having to act a manager, and eventually brought himself back into singles-wrestling, capturing the company's Beer Drinking Championship before eventually retiring.
Sarah Kennedy and Shelby Steele would continue to team-up, and it wasn't until Sarah Kennedy made it "big" that Shelby was finally noticed as great in-ring technician. When the company they worked for was bought, the new owners decided it was time to split the Kennedy-Steele Connection, and Shelby was then introduced to the world of woman's single competition at just the age of twenty-two.
However, the new owners saw Sarah Kennedy as the team's shining star, and she ended up getting the major push as Shelby was reduced to an in-ring jobber, giving new, and upcoming talent their push. Shelby would soon get fed up, and eventually leave the company two years later.
She would then travel across the United States and Canada wrestling for small independent shows for the next five years, receiving minimal success as her hunger to give the "Steele" name credibility continued. She would eventually come across an ad for Global Championship Wrestling, and felt this was her opportunity to finally make her family name famous.
