In the aftermath of the snap resignation of Lauren from GCW, few would have guessed what would take shape in the weeks to follow. Fewer still would have guessed that the 39 year old veteran Lessien Melwasul would rise from the ashes of mental exile to take the Debutante division by the throat, for a second time. Much to the chagrin of the current Champion: Jennifer Drew.
With the Debutante roster finally split. It seemed Jennifer Drew was safe. But GCW's punk-rock Princess saw it another way. She wanted out of the shadow cast by GCW's past; that past being fully embodied by the form of Lessien Melwasul. Determined to break through, Jennifer accepted Lessien's invitation to Mayhem. An invitation the Champion must surely be second guessing in hindsight.
In a battle of: youth and age, the future and the past, air and Earth, the here and the way out there. It was the latter of all four categories, the self proclaimed 'Queen of the North', that beat Jennifer Drew with the 3 count. Each time the Champion seemed on the verge of momentum it was Lessien who grounded the high flier. For each stiff kick from the educated feet of Drew, it was paid in full with the vicious right hands of Melwasul. A picture perfect missle drop kick wasn't enough to turn the tide as the tide swallowed the Debutante Champion with the final Lovelessor laying her out.
The Champion was dismantled and many would and have said the magic word, murked. So with Lessien firmly in the driver's seat we head to the Champion's show, Lock-Up! Where she will need to put the past behind her and even things up before the gold goes live. Stay tuned...
