It's the beginning of the GCW pay per view Absolution. The fireworks have gone off and the introduction has already rolled. It was time to kick off the show. What better way than to start off the show with a little legendary showdown? Well, maybe not legendary... but... How about a little old school? Cue in "Gonna Fly Now" to his the PA system. He didn't make the MayheM show, nor did he make it to the LockUp! show. Jack Douglas had been recuperating from his previous bout with Chris Calloway. It was technically his first real match back in the ring. The one before it didn't necessarily count since it didn't last long. Exodus was when he really put some hard work out there. He managed to pull off another victory over Calloway. It seems like that second loss must've hurt his pride pretty bad because we haven't seen too much of him after that. Missed the next two shows to heal up. Can't make this a common thing though. Can't necessarily rebuild a shattered career with just pay per view events. It was time now. Jack Douglas pushed his way through the stage curtain. The fans gave him some cheers as he threw an arm up into the air. He began to start making his way down the ramp. He gazed around the arena, looking at the crowd tonight. It was pretty packed. Seemed like there's been a lot of hype going into tonight's show. Jack walked around to the steel steps on the left side of the ring. Then he walked up the steps and climbs into the ring through the ropes. He threw his arm up into the air again as he walked over to the ropes. Another round of cheers from the audience for Jack. It brought a smile to his face to get such a warm reception. He headed towards the other side of the ring, requesting the microphone from a ringside staff member. They didn't waste any time retrieving him one. Once Jack got the microphone, he headed towards the middle of the ring. His theme music died down and he raised the microphone up to his mouth to start speaking. Time to kick off this show right...
"Heh, heh, heh... Now that's what I call a greeting..."
More cheers for Jack. He nodded his head as he paused for a brief moment. Soaking in the support from the fans. Can't blame him for holding on to these moments. He raised the microphone once again after the crowd died down again...
"Heh, heh, heh... Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Heh, heh, heh... Yeah. I know what you've been thinking. Where in the world is Chris Calloway? Heh, heh, heh... I guess that loss at Exodus must've not gone over too well... My eyes aren't as good as they used to be... But I must say... Heh, heh, heh... Could have sworn I saw his face on the back of a milk carton the other day... Heh, heh, heh..."
Another round of cheers for Jack.
"I know that I wasn't in the ring either since Exodus but.... You can't blame me for taking a little time to oil the old gears and shake the cobwebs out of these boots. Heh, heh, heh... Now I guess that brings us here to tonight... There's no Calloway in sight... So I guess I'm free for tonight... Heh, heh, heh... So... I'll just cast out the old rusty fishing line out there and offer up an open challenge to any Titan sitting in the locker room looking to take on old Jack Douglas here... Heh, heh, heh... Let's sit here and wait to see if I get a nibble.... Shall we?"
Jack Douglas lowered the microphone from his lips and folded his arms across his chest. Awaiting for someone in the back to answer the challenge he's just laid out to start off Absolution with...
