GCW Season 2 was off, full steam ahead. The announcement of Shia Storm's retirement has brought out a huge flood of Titan's responding to Amanda Wallace's call of a tournament to crown two number one contenders. That was all fine and dandy, but at the end of the day... Just where were the Debutantes at?
Sure, there was one little cat-fight happening between a love triangle or something, but last time she checked, the Debutante division was at the very least having wrestlers sign on the dotted line for their contracts still. Nobody just seemed to want to be front and center, that is, unless you've had your ridiculous man ripped from you in the first place.
Enter, "Ex's and Oh's," Crymson's theme song. The usual shades of red that the arena had turned were now turned to a brutal washing of flashing light. The familiar sight of Crymson walking through the entrance, hand on her hip as she walked intently to the ring greeted the fans cheers, who, just over a month ago, had read of her car accident on GCW.com. Various doctor updates made things look grim for her, as she was unconscious for nearly an entire week. Yet, here she was, in all of her bloody red glory, dressed to compete. She hops over the top rope, feeling good as she slingshots herself. Her gifted agility made each and every movement within this ring easier than habit.
"It's about time, huh GCW?" The crowd roars in it's response to her. She lowered the microphone with a smile, listening to the "Welcome Backs" being chanted back at her. "Yes, yes, thank you. I'm absolutely fine. It's going to take much, much more to keep Claire Arlett out of the ring, doing what she does best.
I know you've all heard the same old sob story from me each time last year where I felt that I had too much to prove, and just couldn't grasp the world in front of me, right? There's a little lesson I've learned through all of that. I may have earned myself the honor of being referred to by my old home as one of their Legends, yes, earned it as a rookie and not handed to me in a bittersweet feel-good moment as the doors closed, but I've also earned myself my own referred distinction of 2008's biggest disappointment."
A few disagreeing yells can be heard coming from the audience, but Crymson shook them off. "No, no, I failed by my standards. I set a bar in my rookie year that I just couldn't touch. But, being apologetic, and self-pathetic over it all...
Just really doesn't change anything, now does it? I can come out here, yell, scream just how great I was... Be your regular, washed-up has-been at the young age of 22... No, I've come out here to say, "It really doesn't bother me, anymore."
I've come out here to leave that exactly where it is, 2008, and I'm out here to talk 2009. And I can't think of any better way to start out 2009, than with a win. I'm sure that there SHOULD be a bunch of other Debutantes back there with the same thought pattern. Which, would make this a conflict of their interests. So, conflicted-interest-Debutante... why don't you make your way out here, talk a little trash, and we can get things set up to resolve that little dispute live here tonight on Exodus, shall we?"
