Just after the opening sequence of Exodus a short video is played the tape was delivered to GCW event staff on the morning of the event. A person is sitting in the chair looking directly into the camera, GCW fans know this person as Cal Crossfire former GCW World Champion.
"Heyo wrestling fans, I am Calvin Cross but you know me as Cal Crossfire. Now many of you may have hated me in the past, some might have loved me for the entertainment I produced for GCW and the wrestling world."
Cal leans back and smiled.
"I did some good things and indeed some bad things, I beat my sister, I tried to cause a miscarriage to Lauren Kennedy. Many things that I do not regret doing, it was all in the name of entertainment. On the streets being jeered and insulted led me to believe that I was doing my job right."
A brief highlight video of Cal in action is played it featured clips from his numerous matches including his sensational win over the Avenger that earned him the world title. It finishes with a still of him holding the belt above his head.
"I have so many wonderful memories of my career, the world championship victory just the pinnacle of it. However whether you loved me or hated me, I bring you the news of my retirement from in ring competition. I feel that I have achieved my goals and it's time to move on to new ventures."
Cal then leans forward a little before winking at the camera.
"I'd like to thank most of my colleagues for doing what they do, I know it isn't easy being in the wrestling business but some characters certainly help keep you sane on the long road trips and the ribs I'd better not say anything about those. Lastly GCW thank you for helping me achieve my dream and allowing me to work for you."
The camera fades before cutting back to the arena for the fans reaction which is mixed, some were looking forward to the rumored Crossfire/Avenger feud and then it cuts to a boy wearing Cal's shirt a tear in his eye as unlikely as it was his hero had walked away.
Bazztard: "There you have the news of Cal Crossfire's retirement. Whether you loved him or you hated him, the man was a great performer and a dear friend of mine. What ever you do Cal I wish you luck."
