Pretty awesome of a movie, but than again, it's about wrestling and doesn't have Jack Black so I would have enjoyed it in many ways as it is.  And it's not a horror movie with a corny tag line...   *ahem* Anyways, it was great. Dramatic, wrestling, boobs (what), wrestling, emotional, ROH and wrestling. But surprisingly there isn't a lot of wrestling in it. Plus it shows what wrestling is really like behind the scenes, something I've never seen in an actual movie (not documentaries). No wonder Vince McMahon hates it. |

It's awesome, seen it as well and it was great IMO. Seen it last week actually and the previews lived up to it. As Massey said, not a lot of wrestling, but it has a good story to it that ties around wrestling and his life in general... Awesome movie.

Probably one of the films that would interest me, but I am not sure if it'll get a UK release until the DVD. Sounds like it might be like Ali which I did enjoy personally but I know others didn't. I try to look out for it.

Girlfriend and I watched and liked it very much yesterday. Aside from the Sopranos ending, but, meh. Mickey's Golden Globe was greatly deserved.

Ending was PERFECT!!
Being apart of the industry (even a small part lol) I can say it's extremely accurate how it was depicted.
The whole Family issue - dead on
Part Time Job - dead on
ppl only see you as your gimmick - Yep, I'm a victim of that aswell. I think my whole town only knows me as Sylas... it's sad.
"That's 79.98 Sylas..."
"Ya want fries with that Sylas..."
"Where's the rent money Sylas..."
"Get outta bed Sylas..."
Ok, so the last one is the girlfriend lol, but you get the point. The movie is just so dead on it's not even funny. No wonder Vince detests the movie. It shows what his company has done to ALOT of the past stars. We all think they live the high life, but they are so run down and desperate to work still, it's not even funny. It's quite sad!
But that ending... PERFECT and the way it should have ended.

Also didn't care for the match buildups in there. Seemed they just started out with nothing but high spots to do a quick, short match, like everything was a Sunday Night Heat match or something to showcase a new guy. Granted, I know it's for the movie, but yeah. I've never seen a five minute RoH match  And if that was Combat Zone Wrestling I saw, those guys are fucking idiots. |
