Released by Lauren Kennedy's official fan site
I can confirm that the shoulder injury that Lauren suffered during pre season training for GCW is in fact true, what is unclear is how bad is the injury and if it will require surgery. However it was serious enough for Lauren to pull out of a show in Oregon earlier this week. I was able to personally contact Lauren to get her thoughts and to find out how serious the injury was here is a transcript of our conversation.
Lauren: "It was during a training session with Violet Scarsden that I felt a pop and then shooting pains in my shoulder, my physician hasn't been able to see me so I am waiting on finding out if this means I miss part of the GCW season. Of course this isn't the first time that I have injured my shoulder but I thought the surgery had fixed the original problem. However I could have a totally new injury I am unsure. Obviously I need to have a professional take a look at it before we will know if the worst case scenario is true"
Juliette: "The worst case scenario being?"
Lauren: "That I need surgery that could keep me out of action for months or up to a year, which obviously disappoints me, my employers, my fans, my colleagues. In this business you miss time and it can kill your career."
Juliette: "Surely not, I can't imagine GCW without you and nor can your fans"
Lauren: "It's nice to hear that, and so far my friends have been supportive of me. My sister Megan returned from Scotland upon hearing of my injury, and has been here to take care of things for me."
Juliette: "I remember you saying that you and your sister were on great terms now, I guess it's nice having big sis looking out for you"
Lauren: "Megan and I even when we hated each other would still look after the other if needed, I guess blood really is thicker than water."
Juliette: "That is good to hear, but I need to know if you have to miss any in ring time will your face still grace GCW television?"
Lauren: "It all depends on how I can be written in for a manager role or not, it was planned that I'd be working closely with a student of mine to help her gain a footing within GCW. So maybe if Kimberly Masters or Amanda Wallace green light that maybe I'll still be working in the mentor role."
Juliette: "Well I won't take up much more of your time, but I will ask if you have any words for your fans?"
Lauren: "Yes, keep believing in me. If I can get back you can bet your bottom dollar I will be back. I know you'll all be here to support me and I thank you for that. From The First Lady. I will be back stronger."
Lauren seemed in high spirits but the medical opinion was as of yet unknown. Lauren's physician was unavailable so she is still waiting for his opinion. Before seeing a specialist, but I for one can't help but feel that Lauren should see any specialist available instead of waiting for hers. After all the timing is crucial and the longer she waits the more damage she could cause. I wish Lauren a speedy recovery and I hope that a great wrestling talent hasn't suffered a career ending injury so early into it. I tried speaking to GCW officials but none were available for comment.
