It was just about mid-afternoon, three o’clock to be exact, and there was a man walking down the street on the sidewalk. This man was known to people back home as Kristian Beckerman. He had gotten into Chicago the previous day and was now just roaming the streets taking in the sights. Honestly he didn’t know what he was doing there. There was a wrestling business around there but it was in its off-season so what could he possibly be there for? Well considering the business just entered the off-season, he figured that there would still be some people who worked there who just happened to still be around. He had no clue where to start looking which is why he found himself roaming down the street sporting a pair of faded blue jeans and a white v-neck t-shirt. It was started to get cooler out but he still wore a simply t-shirt. So as he was walking down the street he had spotted a sign that took his full attention. It was the “GCW Café: Chi-Town”. Well he thought it would be a good idea to head inside and grab some food since he had been walking for a while. So into the building he went.
Once inside he made his way to an empty table and had a seat. The café was very nice and well designed. It was quiet inside which was how he liked it. Well it was basically how a café was supposed to be, quiet and not rowdy. It was a place where small conversations could take place. It was the place where he wanted to be right now after hearing the horns of cars all day. He sat back on the cushioned chair and waited for a waiter or waitress to come over. Hey I’m Lynne, can I take your order?
Yeah, yeah. Well for right now I’ll just have a large coffee with extra cream and extra sugar. Is that alright? The waitress nodded her head and was on her way. He picked up the newspaper and began reading the local news waiting for his coffee to arrive.

After about a five minute wait, the waitress had returned with a cup of coffee for Kristian. She carefully placed the cup down before him trying not to spill anything. Once the cup sat in from of Kristian, he looked up at her and nodded. She then reached into her pouch and pulled out a small notepad. She then took out a pen and look down to him. So, what can I get ya?Well for right now I’ll just have this coffee. I kinda jus wanna hang out for a little bit. I’ll call ya over if I decide whether I want some food or not. I apologize if that’s a pain.No not at all. Take your time. With that being said, the waitress tucked his pad and pen into her pouch and was on her way. Kristian then planted his face back into the newspaper that he had been reading previously before he had received his coffee. Without looking he picked up the cup of coffee and lifted it to his lips and took a sip. Delicious the coffee was. It was just how he liked it. It wasn’t like what he used to get back at the small coffee shop back home, but it was close. He placed the cut back down on the table and continued reading the daily news. As he was reading the paper the door to the café opened and someone had made their appearance.

Glancing out of the door, the waitress sees someone of significant importance coming to the door, so immediately she heads over in a brisk hurry. Pulling the door open, she steps aside, smiling at the woman stepping in.
"Good afternoon, Miss Wallace! It's been so long since anybody has seen you out and about!"
Stepping in, her weight on a cane, she looks over to the girl.
"I wonder why..."
She was effectively crippled. Permenantly? Perhaps... it was just starting to get out amongst the media following GCW that Amanda had been hit by a drunk driver months ago. Sighing, she looks tot he rest of the cafe, before pointing with her cane towards the back corner.
"There, please."
The waitress nodded, heading off to the table in order to get it ready for Amanda, who started slowly making her way to the table.

As a woman walked into the café with a cane, Kristian lowered the newspaper which he was ready. He knew that he had seen her before but he couldn’t figure out where. Then something clicked in his head. He knew who she was. She was the CEO of the Global Championship Wrestling, Amanda Wallace. What had happened to her was the question that immediately popped into his head. He did not remember seeing her on TV with a cane. Maybe she had gotten injured or hurt at some point during the off-season or at another time. He watches as she made her way over to a table in the corner. Hmm…Should he go over and speak with her? Kristian that it would be a good idea and polite to go over and speak with his future boss. He placed the newspaper back down on the table and picked up the cup of coffee. He stood up from his seat and began making his way over to where Amanda Wallace sat. Once he had made it to his destination he placed his hand on a seat across from her. Hey, do you mind if I take a seat?

She looked at him for a long second, having just struggled to sit down. After a moment, she nodded. She didn't have any paper work she was trying to dig out from above her head, she didnt' have anything on her plate as far as work went, so perhaps now was the time to just... socialize? Perhaps, if that was on this gentleman's mind?
"Sure... go ahead... Mr...?"

Oh, my apologies Ms. Wallace. I’m Kristian Beckerman but you can jus call me Kris.
Kristian smiles as he takes the seat before him. Once he is comfortable in his seat he places the cup of coffee in front of him on the table. Yeah, you’re Amanda Wallance, CEO of the Global Champioship Wrestling. I’ve heard about that place and I have ta say that it’s real good. I am very sure you don’t wanna talk about that right now so we don’t have to. I jus saw you make your way over and I thought it would be good to introduce myself.

"It amazes me how much someone can be remembered when they try to stay out of the public eye for so long... so, well, it's actually kind of comforting..." She said, looking up to the incoming waitress.
"Coffee, please. I'll order something to eat soon..."
She motioned to Kris in front of her...
"Perhaps instead of talking about where you've heard of me from, you can start out with something to drink?"

Yeah, well I knew about you when the GCW first opened up. I was when you were there before you decided that you wanted ta stay out of the public eye.
Kristian watched as the waitress took Amanda’s coffee order. The waitress’ eyes then shifted over to him waited for his order of beverage. Kristian already had cup of coffee that was in front of him. Thanks but I’m all set. I have my coffee right here. So Ms. Wallace or whatever you want me to call ya, what brings you here to the café?

She raised her cane, looking at it's handle.
"It's not like I had a choice..."
She sighed, leaning it on the booth.
"Believe me, I would've liked to be around to make sure things ran smoothly... it even ran out a General Manager at one point. But, what can you do when life happens?"

"Yeah I know what ya mean. There really isn’t anything you can do when life gets in the way. Even if life does get in the way, it comes first before anything else. Besides if you aren’t healthy then you won’t be able to do your job ya know. How long do you have to use the cane for? I hope it’s not a permanent thing that you have goin’ on there cause that would suck pretty bad."

"Then it's going to suck. Life is all about the challenges...
and I have to learn to live with this one."
She sighed...
"But to business. There has to be a reason you've come to me while I've come to enjoy a meal in peace."

Kristian nodded his head before reaching to pick up his cup of coffee. He took another sip and placed it back down on the table. He then responded to what Amanda had said last. “Well I saw that you came in and I knew who you were. I figured that you really didn’t want to talk business so I jus wanted to come over and have like a light conversation or somethin’ like that. I mean I can see that you have been through a lot and you jus want ta chill. But if ya insist, I’ll jus tell ya that I’m Kristian Beckerman as I’ve told ya before and I plan on joining up with the GCW come January for the second season.”
