__Becca's Apartment~Downtown Chicago__
"Dammit!
Chester get out of the way! If I fall on you while I'm doing this do NOT blame me when the doc has to bring you back again. Geez, go eat or something will you? I'm trying to be productive here."
She looks down at Chester as he twinges his nose up a bit, hopping off as she points to the kitchen. She loved him she did, but that rabbit was seriously getting on her nerves these days. As she watches Chester hop off in search of food, Becca turns back to face the television. Yoga video she owned. Had to try and keep in shape you know. Especially since now she knew she'd be training and more than likely burning off thousands of cals like, per the hour. Tight spandex, sucks to wear. Seriously. She grunts as the stretching continues on, various poses. Becca hated yoga with a passion, she couldn't stand it in all honesty. Sighing, she gets down on all fours and arches her back down as far as she can. Grunting as she raises up her hips and lowers her upper body. Yoga tended to be really demeaning when you think about it. Just as she's fully locked in the pose... her phone begins to ring. Becca lifts her head up and grunts out as she hops up to her feet, running over and picking up her cell phone.
"Hello?"
"Hi, can I speak to a... Rebecca Crowley?"
"Yes you can, that's me. Who is this?"
"Yes, this is Mindy from St. John's Hospital-"
"St. John's? The hell are you calling me for? I'm in Chicago!"
"Yes but you've been put down as an emergency contact number for a patient here."
"..... What."
Becca freezes. Her face goes numb. Her hand grips her cell phone with slightly more force. The sound of the television seems to turn to white noise in her mind. Ringing sensations fill her upper body. Chester hops back from the kitchen, looking up at her with his twitchy nose. Becca doesn't move a muscle, not even sure if she's breathing anymore.
"Yes there's a patient here by the name of.... Melissa Crowley. Your number was on the emergency contact list, I regret to inform you that Melissa has been in a car accident. She's in critical condition, it was required I call as soon as possible in order to let you know. It doesn't say the family relation on her chart.... how are you and Melissa related?"
"........"
"Rebecca? Are you still there?"
"... She's my twin sister."
"That's wonderful actually, she's in need of high amounts of blood transfusions. When can you make it out?"
"......."
"Rebecca? Rebecca? Are you still the-"
"................"
Becca snaps her cell phone shut before tossing it onto the couch. Her head hangs slightly, face still numb, tingling. Chester hops around to the front of her, sitting down in front of her feet. Becca slowly closes her fists as she breathes in and out quite deeply. Her mind was blank, all she focused on was Chester's little blinking eyes. Her heartbeat was slowed down, her face growing increasingly numb. The pain of her fingernails digging into her palms was more than evident to her. St. John's? Why was she there? What the hell happened? What was going on? Becca slowly kneels down onto the floor before sitting down, hugging her knees and resting her chin against the top of them as she looks at the phone.... on her couch. She closes her eyes and shakes her head slowly.
"I hate.... my life..."

"BECCA! MOM TOLD US TO GET READY! WAKE UP!!!"
__Ten Years Ago~Aurora Colorado - Crowley House__
"Ugh... will you SHUT UP!"
"MOOOOOOOOOOOOM! BECCA TOLD ME TO SHUT UP!"
"Rebecca! I told you not to use that kind of language young lady! Now come on get ready we don't want to be late."
__Sunday~Morning Rush For Church__
"I hate my life..."
"Mom Becca's being morbid again!"
"Becca! No being dark."
Becca rolls her eyes while she watches the scenery pass by the car window. Sunday morning drive to Church, joy. Seatbelt fastened, the Sunday dress that made her feel oh so disturbed, fit all to well. The Sunday shoes, everything about this experience made Becca hate it. The Sunday bow on her dress, and on her hair. The way her sister would frolic all nice and stuff when they'd get out of the car. Sickening.
"Come on Becca, you know you like going to Church."
"No, I really don't. I can't express that enough."
"You know for a thirteen year old, you're very picky about life."
"I'd rather be picky then be like Melissa."
"MOM!"
"Becca! Stop teasing your sister."
Becca rolls her eyes again, sighing as she shakes her head back and forth. The Sun and it's beautiful rays of heated DEATH as Becca calls it, shine through the windows and glare down on her cheek. Flaming bastards. The trip continues, Becca ignoring how Melissa tries to sing off key, out of tune with the radio. Rolling her eyes and sighing the entire time. Finally the car comes to a slow stop, and the doors are unlocked. Melissa and Becca get out of the car slowly, the Sun still beating down on Becca like it had it out for her. Like she owed it money. Her mother takes both her and Melissa's hand, leading them into the Church in a mass exodus of other people along the way.
"Five more years.... five more years...."
"Mom! Becca's counting how many more years she has till she's able to move out again!"
"Oh you are such a tool."
"Becca! Stop that language! We're in God's house now. You need to show some respect while you're here. He blesses our lives with miracles each and every day."
"... For someone with so much publicity....
You'd think he'd have a bigger house."
"Mom!"
"Becca! Enough!"
Becca rolls her eyes as her mother continues to lead both her and Melissa into the Church. Smiling and putting on that fake picture of a happy family. Anyone else notice the father is missing? Didn't think so. All three sit down in one of the pews, also known as the most uncomfortable seating mechanism EVER MADE. It's like they're trying to punish you for what not living in the damn Church? Jesus. Becca looks over at Melissa, posture straight. Smiling, her hands folded in her lap. Becca shakes her head and slumps in her spot as the pastor preacher dude gets up in front of the podium. Waving his hand slowly, almost to hush the crowd. What, ever.
"Hello again today my children. It is a blessed day is it not? Glorious in every way, is God's way of living life. We must always remember to be kind and generous to those we meet and those we know. Do unto others and you would have them do unto you after all."
"... For the love of...."
"Becca! Shhh!"
Becca rolls her eyes yet again as the preacher goes on and on and on. As if we all don't know the story by now yes? We're bad people because we were born. Jesus died for us because he felt we deserved a clean slate, we take that chance and fuck up even more. Hence forth we're all doomed to spend our after lives in Hell regardless of what we do. That's the story the Church preaches, over and over. Becca often wonders why the hell people even come back here week after week. It was like watching a bad 70's drama that keeps airing re-runs. Not to mention she was basically a teenager and her mother was still dragging her in here, hand in hand. Geez. Becca taps her fingers against the pew as the preacher continues on. She sighs and shakes her head.
"... I sooooo hate my life."
To be Continued.

"Rebecca Marie Crowley! You march up those steps and you stay in your room until dinner young lady!"
"I can't believe you did that Becca! What were you thinking, we're so in trouble from God now!"
__Ten Years Ago~Aurora Colorado - Crowley House__
"Oh yeah I'll be watching for his lighting bolts."
"MARCH YOUNG LADY!"
__Sunday~Chaos After Church__
Becca rolls her eyes as she stomps her feet up each of the stairs on her way up them. As soon as she's up and around the corner, she starts snickering like a Witch. She had to do it, she couldn't resist it. As if no one had ever thought about doing it? Come on. Becca gets up to her room, just to the right of Melissa's. She opens the door, steps in and slams it very much intentionally. Jumping onto her bed, Becca looks up at her ceiling and laughs a bit at the thought of it. What had she done back in Church?...
__Sunday~During Church__
"And so, he did say unto his disciples-"
"This is IDIOCY! You expect us to sit here for HOURS on end and listen to you read from a old book that's been changed more times then tires on a Dodge, preaching about how we're all going to Hell in a hand basket and THEN have the courage to ask US for money? Isn't begging for coins on the street a CRIME?
How come it's allowed in the "house of GOD" if it's not allowed on the "streets of GOD" huh? How is that not messed up like no tomorrow? Answer me that oh mighty SAVIOUR! You stand up there and go on and on and on about how we should act and how we should live when I bet any of the money you're willing to take from US! That you're the worst one in this DAMN PLACE!"
__Sunday~Chaos After Church__
Needless to say, Becca was royally screwed. She told off the pastor, the entire Church and in some small way.... the entire ideal of being held down while society force feeds you lies. Becca had to admit, she was scared with the fear of God once she saw her mother turn a new kind of color she'd never seen before. Not the best moment. All of the shocked looks from the rest of the people in Church really didn't phase Becca, the pastor cursing her and saying she was a "devil spawn" didn't get to her. The fact her mother didn't say a SINGLE WORD to her on the ride back? THAT got to Becca, big time. Her mother was never silent, that was a bad bad sign. Becca sighs and sits up in her bed, letting her hands drop down onto it between her legs.
"I hate my life."
"Becca?"
"Melissa? What are you doing here?"
Becca gets up off of her bed slowly and goes over to her door, pressing her ear up against it. No sound. What the?... She looks around and realizes Melissa is using their other form of communication when one of them would get into trouble. She crawls back up on her bed and moves a couple things off of the wall directly next to it. She removes the bottom half of a tear away poster and presses her ear up against a small hole in the wall.
"Why did you say all of those things in Church? You really got everyone mad Becca. Mom's furious and the pastor even talked about an exorcism to get rid of the demon inside of you."
"Oh you cannot possibly believe this crap Melissa... come on, we're the same age. How is it I see all of this and you just ignore the truth, and keep the rose colored glasses on with the rest of everyone else? I said what I said cause it was the truth and you know it."
"But Becca! You don't understand! The pastor even talked about banning you from the services every week!"
"Oh cry me a river. I'll live."
"I just wish you could see things a bit more like me and mom do Becca..."
Becca removes her ear from the hole slowly. Her fingers trailing down the wall as she hears Melissa leave her own room. Closing her eyes she shakes her head and lays back down on her bed. See things more like they did? There's no way. The way Melissa and her mom saw things was more like closing your eyes when you walk outside through traffic. Becca just couldn't bring herself to do it, no matter how long she tried. She HAD tried in the past, a long time ago.... bad things came of it, bad bad things. She opens her eyes slowly and sits up on her bed before getting up off of it. Sighing as she pulls her hair back a bit, getting it out of the way of her face as she stares out her window. She couldn't pretend she didn't see the things she saw.... it was just wrong.... Right?

"That's bullshit mom, you let her bring guys home but I can't? I wonder who your favorite is."
"Becca, will you cut that shit out. The only reason I let Melissa bring boys home is so I can meet them and make sure they're good enough for my daughter."
"... Hellllllllllo! I'm your daughter to!"
__Seven Years Ago~Aurora Colorado - Crowley House__
"Yes I know that Becca, but with how YOU are there's no promise you'd bring a BOY home now is there?"
"Here we go with the liberal guilt horse shit, I told you that was ONE TIME mother!"
Becca and her mother continue to share playful insulting banter, you know like all families do. Fifteen years old, meaning of course her twin sister Melissa had "caught up" to her age as well. Bitch.
__Friday~Date Inspection__
Yeah, date inspection. You read right. Becca rolls her eyes and waves her hand off at her mother as the door bell rings. This should be good. She dusts the short pink skirt that's hemmed over and around her denim jeans before sitting down on the stairs. Long stripped shirt under a sleeveless blouse. Sneakers, of course. Becca rests her chin on her hand and smiles as the door opens. She almost drops her jaw as she sees Melissa and her date.
"Hahahahaha! Oh FUCK dude!"
"BECCA! Silence! Hi... I'm Melissa's mother. What's your name?"
"Mom... don't do this."
"Melissa you know how this goes. So, what's your name and how old are you."
"Uh...."
Becca was snickering into her palm as she watches the farce of parenting go on. This was a deadbolt situation. You know what that means? No matter which wall Melissa turns to, she's locked in from all angles by her own fuck up. Not ONLY was she dressed somewhat skimpy, but her date? Becca knew full well, was seventeen years old. She was waiting for it now, just waiting for the bomb to be dropped and for her mother to drop kick the mumbling moron at the door off the front porch.
"His name's Trevor. Isn't that right Trev?"
"Shut UP Becca!"
"Oh? So you know this young man Rebecca?"
"Uh huh. He's a football star at our school, isn't that right Mel?"
"ANYWAY! Me and Trevor are going to go and catch a movie real quick so-"
"And how old are you young man?"
"Uh...."
Becca was loving this shit. The look on Trevor's face reminded you of one of those Deers you catch in your headlights before running his antler ass down in road rage. She wanted to disturb the anthill a bit more, but she didn't know how much she could get away with. Her mother usually liked the dates themselves, to put their heads under the guillotine. Becca shakes her head as she gets the evil eye from Melissa. No way Becca was saving her from this one.
"Well... I turned seventeen about a week ago...."
"Oh God..."
"Seventeen? I'm sorry, you DO know Melissa is only fifteen correct?"
"Well... like uh... yeah, but you know. She's got the body of a eighteen year old now so like.."
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Becca can't help but burst out in laughter. Oh fucking SMOOTH move Fonzie. Christ. Puberty had hit both Becca and Melissa quite early that was true, it had.... been very noticeable to everyone who saw them. But you don't use that as a SELLING point of trying to date a younger chick! GOD DAMN dude! Becca hunches over her knees and laughs, almost cackles. Moron. Jocks really are dumb aren't they? By now, Melissa knew the drill. She walks into the house, away from Trevor. Her mother smiles at Trevor all nicely before slamming the door in his face.
"Becca! You ruined my date!"
"Oh... haha... oh come on, come on Mel! If he's DUMB enough to actually say that shit to mom there's no telling if he'd drive you guys off the side of a cliff because he thinks his car is "bad ass" enough to fly."
"You're such a bitch!"
"Who's wearing more clothing than you and STILL looking better."
"Both of you STOP it! Melissa! You should know better than to bring a seventeen year old home! He's SEVENTEEN Melissa! And you Becca, stop enjoying your sisters misery."
"You have no idea how hard that is to do."
"I HATE YOU!"
Becca moves slightly to the side on the stairs as Melissa runs up them, huffy and all red in the face. Their mother grabs her head and shakes it slowly before looking back up at Becca. Who by now is TRYING to wipe any remaining smirk off of said face. It's just, so hard you know? She gets up and walks down the stairs, twisting into the kitchen so she can snicker some more and look for something to drink. What a fucking tool. Seventeen, please. Melissa should have known she couldn't have pulled that shit off. Becca opens the fridge slowly and pulls out a can of soda, she opens it slowly before shutting the fridge and taking a small sip.
"How come you don't go out anymore Becca?"
"Hm? Oh.... I don't know. I guess I just don't feel like it right now. I'll go hang out with friends and stuff but as for dates?.... Well no offense mom, but the last "date" I had you condemned to the depths of Hell."
"Becca... it was another girl."
"So? You really do believe everything in that book don't you."
"Yes and there was a time a long time ago... when you used to as well."
"I grew out of fairy tales mom. Sorry. Besides, what would you rather have me do? Go out with older guys like Mel is trying to pull? Or girls my own age?"
"......."
"Kind of a wash, isn't it?"
Becca takes another sip of her soda before passing her mother by in the kitchen and walking out into the den. What made this whole situation truly truly fucked up? Was Becca, was straight. She experimented with a date, and kissing another girl ONCE. No sex happened, no groping no heavy petting. Nothing but a.... well, a real kiss. Not one of those "kiss your Grandmother" type things. Just so happened that ONE kiss? Was caught by Becca's mother, her sister AND her teacher. The odds. She plops down into the couch and grabs the remote beside her, flicking on the television while she takes another sip. She hears her mom coming out of the kitchen slowly. Becca turns her face towards it, meeting her mothers' eyes before she walks up the stairs. Becca sighs and shakes her head while channel surfing.
"... I.... hate, my life."

"Yes mom, I know I know. I won't say anything about it alright?"
"No Rebecca, I'm serious. I don't want you taking any little smarmy shots at Melissa about this when she shows up this year got me?"
"Uh huh uh huh. I'll be good."
__Three Years Ago~Aurora Colorado - Crowley House__
"Rebecca...."
Twenty years old. This is where the story truly begins. Becca had now become a very striking young woman, she had dealt with certain relationships that for one reason or another had not worked out. There had been ONE that Becca had truly believed would work.... but, certain situations had cut that in half quickly.
__Saturday~The Beginning Of The End__
"Her car is pulling up. Are you sure you want to be here for this Rebecca?"
"....."
Becca stays silent, she knew what was going to happen. She sits down on the stairs.... just like old times. Tight denim jeans, short sleeved shirt, sneakers. Just, like old times. Becca lowers her head a bit as she hears Melissa... and who she knows is with her, walk up the front porch. The knocking at the door seems to almost be a dagger into her heart at this point. Her mother slowly opens the door, with a forced smile no doubt. Becca lifts her head slowly as Melissa and her boyfriend walk through the front door.
"Hey mom. Hey Becca...."
"Nice to see you again Rebecca."
".... Yeah."
"So how have you two been since you last came to visit? Come on lets get you all fed and warm up out from the cold. Brandon? How about you come help me get things ready in the kitchen okay?"
"Alright Misses Crowley."
"Oh please, you don't have to call me Misses."
The small talk between Brandon and her mother continues on as she watches her mom, usher Brandon into the kitchen with haste. Becca slowly lowers her head a bit again as Melissa's foot steps approaching her position on the stair case. Melissa kneels down on the bottom step in order to look up at Becca from under the hair draping down around her face.
"Maybe I shouldn't have brought him..."
"Hey he's your boyfriend right. Nothing wrong with bringing the boyfriend right."
"Becca.... you know this wasn't done to hurt you..... right?"
"Oh of course not. How could this possibly hurt me. The one guy I fall in love with and you take him from me. No there's no possible way that would ever hurt me Melissa. Do you hear yourself talk? What did you do this to me for Mel?
Is this some kind of revenge for me messing with you all those years ago? Is this some kind of spite you had for me or something? One last way to get me before I leave? Because not even I would have done this to you."
"Becca.... I really care about Brandon. I'm sorry that this hurts you I really am. I just.... I'm not willing to destroy this kind of happiness just because my sister is mad you know?"
Becca slowly lifts her head to look down at Melissa's face. What did she say? 'Just because'? Becca takes a deep breath in real slowly, she always knew this would happen someday. Nodding her head slowly with a bit of a smile..... Becca lunges at Melissa, knocking both down the rest of the stairs and spilling out onto the floor in front of the door. The sound rattles their mother and Brandon in the kitchen, who both come out to see what's going on. Becca begins to tug and rip at Melissa's hair, trying to lift the damn stuff up by its roots. Their mother begins shouting in the back round of their fighting.
"BECCA! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! GET OFF OF MELISSA THIS INSTANT!"
Becca doesn't really care about the insanely annoying shouting at this point, she just had to much rage inside of her to control anymore. She almost yanks Melissa up by her hair before letting out a vicious slap land on Mel's right cheek. Knocking her straight back down to the floor. Her mother quickly pushes Becca aside to get over to Melissa's side on the floor, making sure she's alright. Please, it was a slap. If Becca had wanted to seriously hurt Melissa she damn sure would have without any reservations about it. She turns her attention to Brandon, simply breathing in and out as she shakes her head. Becca opens the front door and leaves the house without a second word leaving her lips.
"I fucking hate my life."
To Be Continued.
