A Meeting(Invite)

I pick with my fork in the salad and start to take a mouth full of my chicken salad. Not so bad after all, is going through my head as I am chewing on the fresh chicken flesh. Very good … the café is really not that bad … a lot better as in the local restaurant from my last job. As I was just finished with my first load of chicken salad, I hear the question from Joe if I liked it. I just simple nod with my head and say.

Yes, it is very good. I must say I am impressed, in Toronto it was a lot more difficult to get a good salad … but this one is perfect, the right taste … fresh … and very good, just perfect and what is with your meal?

Meanwhile at the same time, just a different place … the Apartment from Nicole Strom to be exactly.

Hey Denise … How often have I told you not to run around in the house? This is no playing ground and you could hurt yourself when you run against a wall, a corner or even a table. So calm down and let us watch a bit TV ok?

The young girl stops in her movement and turns in the direction of the couch … on which Jessie is sitting. A confused look on her face … but then slowly a slight grin appears on her face … as if she has planned something or as if she got an idea. She slowly walks over to the couch and sits down next to Jessie, still smiling.

Ice cream … I wants ice cream … then I will be a nice girl. Strawberry ice cream makes a nice girl out of me….

Jessie just shakes her head as she would have excepted that from her … girl and her ice

So you want some strawberry ice cream, then you will be a good girl and watch with me TV? Have I understood that the right way?`

Denise just nods and a smirk appears on Jessie’s face as she stands up and walks in the kitchen. A quick look in the freezer shows her that the 2 girls have a lot of ice cream in here … as the whole freezer is full of it. Jessie takes one package out and opens it, she takes 2 spoons and walks back in the living room to Denise … or at least she wanted to do that.
Just as she has stepped out of the kitchen … Jessie starts to feel a bit strange … and then from one second to the other it suddenly becomes dark. JB falls down at the floor … a loud BAMM could be heard as she hits the floor …

Denise jumps to her feet as she hears the loud BAMM … her eyes are opened widely as she runs over to her babysitter … she quickly sat down next to here and try to wake her up … tears start to run down her cheek as she was not able to wake Jessie up. Then suddenly she got an idea and run over to the phone to call her mother….

While the whole Jessie thing was going on, Joe and Nicole continued to talk.

Joe takes a bite of one of his Chicken Strips and then speaks again.

All of the sudden Nicole's phone starts to ring.

Just as I wanted to answer something about the subject we have started to talk about, which was the Canadian food, my mobile phone suddenly started to ring. I hold my index finger in the air to signal Joe that I will answer the call. I pull my phone out of my pocket and switch it open. The number was very familiar as it was the phone number from the phone that I gave my daughter Denise not too long ago. I am wondering what this could mean, so I placed the phone at my right ear and say …

Hi, Denise honey, what’s up that you call mommy ?

Mommy? … *sniff * … Aunt Jessie is not moving. Fall down, not moving .. *sniff’ anymore.

Wow wow … what you mean with Jessie is not moving? What happened?

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing … there must have happened something in my apartment with Jessie. My breathing speed starts to increase as small pearls of sweat starts to appear on my forehead.

What happened Denise?

Aunt Jessie, fall down and not moving anymore … what should I do Mom?

Shit … I mean, stay where you are. I will be there in a few minutes. Just take of Jessie will you?

Good girl,

I hang up and put the phone back in my pocket as I stand up. The chicken salad is from one second to the other the least thing I have to worry about. I am pretty sure that Joe could see that I am really concerned … scared .

Joe, I have to go. Something terrible has just happened at home and I need to take care of the situation.

Joe is in shock and spits out his chicken that he was chewing onto his plate. Nicole quickly puts on her jacket and quickly jumps up. Joe speaks.

Nicole begins to run out the door. Joe immediately grabs his jacket and shades and runs out the door after Nicole. He has absolutely no idea what in the world is going on at this moment in time. All he knows is Aunt Jessie, Denise, and Nicole ran out the door. This can't be good he says to himself. Joe catches up to Nicole and grabs her arm.

Nicole I'll drive as my car is closer, BUT you have to tell me what is going on, and how to get there.[/glow]

Nicole nods and follows Joe to his car. Joe unlocks it and they both jump in. Nicole is freaking out at the moment while Joe puts his car into gear and takes off.

Joe waits for a response as he is now flying down the street.

I don’t know. Denise called me and said something about Jessie and that she has fall down and is not moving anymore. You must know, Jessie Blair is the babysitter from Denise today and I am not sure what I should think … I mean, I got a call from my daughter and she tells me that her aunt has fallen down and is not moving anymore …

I stop to speak as I am not sure what I should say. My little angel is in troubles and whatever happened with Jessie is a mystery for me as well. I let out a loud moan as I start to look out of the window … while I at the same time start to look at the watch in the car. Damn it … we need to hurry.

Joe's eyes get big as he now passes 80mph. Nicole tells him to take this left and then a right and we will be there. Joe pedals his Charger like Richard Petty use to back in the late 60's and early 70's on the NASCAR circuit. About 7 to 8 minutes later, they arrive at the house. Before Joe could even stop the car Nicole had already opened the door and jumped out. Luckily Joe was slowing down or that could of been VERY bad. Joe stops the car, puts the car in first, and shuts it off. He jumps out as Nicole rushes to the door and then inside. Denise is waiting at the door when Nicole opens it. You have never seen a happier Nicole Storm EVER. Tears were running down her face as she sees her baby. Joe slides beside of them and heads inside where he then sees Jessie Blair on the ground.

Joe gets down his knees as he checks to see if she was breathing. Joe sees that she has passed out. He looks at Nicole.

Joe gets up and walks over to Nicole.

Everything is ok my little Angel.

I say as I wrap my hands around my daughter, I can only image how difficult this whole situation must be for her. Just a nice evening with her aunt and then this … I raise back up to me feets with Denise in my arms as I walk over to Joe. It looked like as if he has just checked what is wrong with her. Apparently she has just passed out, but that what bothers me about this is that you don’t pass out without an reason.

Made somebody pass out with one hit? … Ok, jokes aside, … Denise, would you get in the kitchen and get a glass of water for your aunt Jessie? Will you?

My little angel nods with her head and runs directly in the kitchen to bring me a glass of water. At the same time I turn my attention back to Jessie and kneel down next to her. I let my hand run down her cheek to the side of her neck … she looks to be ok. Looks like as if she …just passed out. But why?

Joe stands there beside of Nicole.

Joe begins to pace as Nicole speaks.

Just as I wanted to say something about what could be a reason for this whole mess as my daughter comes back with a glass of water in her hand. I quickly stand up and take it out of her hand, a smile appears on my face as I nod to Denise and thank her for the help. Then I kneel down next to Jessie once again and …

SPLASH

I throw the water in her face and you know what? It worked, Jessie woke up …

Joe laughs a little bit as he speaks.

Joe waits as Jessie moves a little bit more and then opens her eyes.

Jessie opens her eyes and sat up very quickly. What has just happened? She looks with a confused look on her face at Nicole. JB also notice that Joe Bruiser is here as well.

What happened?

Joe laughs.

What are you talking about ... and why the hell have you thrown some water in my face Nicole? I was …

Jessie notice that she is sitting on her floor and the memory slowly comes back from her fall. Its not the first time that this has happened … Not a big deal after all, except this time it has happened in front of people. She press her teeth’s against each other and stands up. She walks over to the couch and sits down.

I was just taking a break and wanted to relax a bit. So I laid down on the floor while Denise was watching TV. This is really no reason to wake me up like that.

Joe squinches his eyes.
