Evidence To The Contrary (Candi)

The reception involving Masters and Seraphina, was less then to Lilith's liking. There was much suspect in the case, first off... Masters was involved in shady like aspects of Toronto before its.. well, before. As for Seraphina, Lilith couldn't very well harp down on Masters for having a wrestler/former wrestler as a personal assistant. After all, Lilith herself was Candi's personal assistant. Still... something about Gruber rubbed Lilith in actual bad ways she wouldn't enjoy. She tightens her fists a bit while walking down the hall with her, boss, Candi. Her mind was far far away from anything that may be considered her job at this point. The phone call Lilith had gotten in the limo ride over was.... indeed the main focus point of her mindset. She clears her throat a bit, rotating her wrists as she stares sideways at Candi. She was her boss, Lilith was in someways... required to inform Candi about things that were considered important. On the other hand, what were the odds that Candi wouldn't fire Lilith on the spot after she heard the situation?

"Tch...

Candi? I kind of have to talk with you.... it's regarding the phone call I got in the limo. It's uh.... it's really kind of important. And even though I'm sure you're gonna be royally pissed at me.... it's still something I really probably should tell you about."

If that wasn't the truth nothing was. Lilith was more then convinced Candi would flip out, get totally pissed.... fire her? Perhaps. Somehow Lilith had, in her own twisted little mind.... figured that Candi would find a harsher 'sentence' besides firing her though. Of course if that was true would still be long off to discover... least, that's what Lilith hopes to be true. Then again, maybe Lilith had finally been freed from the cruel way the gods above seem to toy with her life as if she were a puppet on strings. I mean come on, fuck. So what she herself used to, and at times will continue, to lord herself over others. She has the right too. She's fuckin Lilith Creighton. That makes her above the law period, right? Yeeeeah..... Lilith's own state of self-denial knew no bounds. But that is what makes her a great bitch She rotates her neck a bit, stopping in the hallway. She looks ahead at Candi who seems to have finally stopped and turned her attention back.

"I'm serious Candi.... this is definitely important."

$-Already. She was going to be pissed off with Lilith...already? This early on? Not a good sign people. Candice didn't even wanna think about what this entire ordeal could possibly be about. The look in Lilith's eyes showed that perhaps her lovely assistant was indeed correct that she'd be less than pleased with the next few sentences out of her mouth, and knowing Lilith's reputation?...Candice was just as sure.-$

$-Clearing her throat slightly, Candice folds her arms, making sure to have direct eye contact with Lilith before sighing heavily and responding...-$

"Kind"...Of important? Well hopefully it's a bit more than that sweetie by the look on your face and overall demeanor. You look as if you're about to ask a family member for a large amount of money Lilith. Relax. I won't bite your head off...Unless you deserve it of course but...I guess we'll have to see what's on your mind first won't we? I take it the phone call was from a family member? Someone close to you?"

"Familiy member? Uh.... not.. exactly. Someone important? Well kind of yeah..... um.. god.. Candi, we're friends right? Even if only by association? Cause I'm pretty sure you're gonna want to fire my ass on the spot once I tell you what is going to happen.... see..

Okay, so there is a... friend of mine.. in a hospital. He kind of needs some help... it seems everyone else who WOULD help or COULD help are somewhat.... busy at the current time. In some cases, they straight up ran because they were afraid of backlash in assisting him. To be honest I'm amazed I was contacted period.... obviously a large amount of others must have either backed down and out or are..

Lilith looks up at Candi, her eyes unblinking. It wouldn't take long, Lilith knew it. It wouldn't take long at all for Candi to realize exactly what Lilith was talking about. She swallows hard and takes in a deep breath. There was a time of the essence factor here, she herself hadn't been given a large amount of information... but she knew enough to know, this was very serious. Lilith wasn't used to being involved in a situation where, well to be honest? She wasn't the center of attention. You heard me. She's used to being the center of the known universe in her own mind, and the minds of those sucking up to her because of her looks and name alone. Now? Now she was in a situation in which she had been interjected, basically as a last chance resort. It kind of... was a bit odd to her, she wasn't sure how to deal with it.

$-A peculiar look instantly found it's way to Candice's face. Lilith's words immediately caused for her thought process to begin to ponder each and every word from her mouth only seconds ago. Their eyes were locked with one another now, neither flinching in the least as if they were silently communicating with each other. Slowly, but surely, Candice's thoughts retrieved the only feasible group of individual(s) she knew of Lilith ever having any "connection" with during the short amount of time she herself had known of her.-$

$-Hoping she was indeed incorrect of her assumption, Candice's unfolded slowly, finding their place just above her waist as her hands seemed to interlock with one another seconds before she replied...-$

"...I...I see. Um...Lilith, I of course understand that your life is...Well...YOUR life, and...You really can do whatever you wish to do at any given time, as long as it doesn't effect your performance...Here. Soooo...IF you feel you must run to the aid of a "friend" or associate then...I couldn't dare think of stopping you from doing so."

$-There was a short pause in her words. Her facial features showing clearly that she was contemplating how to express herself with the coming sentences from her lips...-$

"...But...I hope you're not asking for me to "allow" you to put yourself in danger along with...Others...Who have been in recent months. If...You understand where I'm coming from...? I mean...Are you positive that YOU are the ONLY one who could lend this...This...Helping hand so to speak?...."

Well.. it seems I'm on the list of last resorts at this point. Probably because of you know who...."

That didn't take long did it? Lilith clears her throat, her hands dropping to her sides before rising back up, holding onto her left elbow softly. Candi knew. Lilith knew that Candi knew, and odds are.... Candi knew, that Lilith knew, she knew.

Moving on. She breathes in and out a bit, her breath speeding up. Putting herself in danger? HA! Lilith has never been in anything BUT danger. So much for having a normal, nice quiet fuckin life. Nooooo it wasn't possible was it? Of course not. That would be to easy, and as we all know at this point.... Lilith's life? Nothing but hell. Candi obviously didn't want Lilith involved in this, that was kind of obviously not hidden to well. Lilith herself? Did she have a choice?...
"I don't like putting myself in the giant frying pan of karma either Candi... but I may actually be the last chance at this point. You may have issues....

But can you really look me in the eye and say you'd be okay with someone potentially kickin' off and hitting the dirt? I don't know how serious any of this is... I haven't been in it. But for him to call ME when I never was.... you know, it kind of sounds like maybe just maybe..

$-Raising an eyebrow...-$

"Hitting the dirt? Could I see myself "allowing" for something like that to happen?...No. Especially when it's someone who could be considered a friend. No I don't believe I could yet..."

"...I'd also have to be realistic and think the situation over a bit more before jumping in head first don't you think? You just stated yourself that you DON'T know how serious any of this is right now, and that the others who "could" or "would" help are nowhere to be found..."

$-Her words come to a brief pause as she turns, slowly making her way behind her desk as she folds her arms across her person again. Almost as if she was allowing for those last words to linger in Lilith's thoughts a bit more before making this obviously...Hasty decision. Once she arrived behind her desk, she turned back towards Lilith, a look of concern clearly in her facial features as her dialog seemingly picked up where it had left off only moments ago...-$

"...Isn't that...Reason enough to just...Not go sweetie? Those two FACTS are more than enough to realize the severity of this situation...Lilith...Don't end up like some of the others just because...It's not worth risking losing your life. That...Cannot be replaced..."

He's not the kind of person to take 'no' for an answer, or wait.. period. You know that Candi. I understand that it's a seriously dangerous situation.. and I get that, I really probably SHOULDN'T be involved period. I get that.. but, if I don't go... who else will? No offense Candi, I doubt you'd get up and throw yourself at the chance of helping you know? I mean you're a good person and all, but like...

You don't like him, at all. Period, no love whatsoever. And that's fine but like Candi... come on here, what if he really is in trouble? I doubt this is a ploy to get attention you know? Would he really drop to THAT low a level?

"Thank god for that then. The world doesn't even deserve to be objected to the one we have now. But you have to remember...He IS cut from the same mold if you will. Honey they're men. That in itself ensures that whatever the reason behind "him" calling on you for help or whatever, will ultimately benefit...Him..."

"And yes...You're right. I DON'T care for him whatsoever to be quite honest with you. Why? Because he hasn't shown any reason to myself or anyone affiliated with me to garner that I should. Greed and lust for power are his key attributes Lilith. Think about that before setting something in motion that you might not be able to take back later on..."

"Maybe I'm overreacting to all of this. Maybe so. Actually I truly hope I am. And maybe just maybe he does really NEED this help from you. And if that is so and you do end up going through with this...The question still remains...Why do you even care? What difference would it make to you if he didn't receive this help he's asking for? What do you possibly stand to gain from going there now? And please...Please tell me it's not what I think it is..."
