"Argh!!!!!!!"
She'd been pulled over just north of Windsor, Ontario for about five minutes now, her cell phone just clicked shut after she received the news. Amanda Wallace was looking forward to a vacation after closing her company down, in order to clear her mind and plot her next step. She sure as hell didn't want to go back to Michigan... *sigh*....
The man who had helped her open her previous company, Full Contact Wrestling, was found dead earlier in the week, just prior to her launching her final show. The news had rocked her, despite things that happened between her and Jon Pryor... a lot of it didn't add up to her. Still pretty unbelievable that it all had happened. Another reason she wanted the vacation, perhaps... an opportunity to properly mourn. Something she couldn't do in the stressful environment she was in. But, alas... she throws her car back into drive and turns around. She didn't have to go back to Detroit, no... she had to head even further away from that back to Ann Arbor. Jon's lawyer had called her up... something about his will...
"Candice? It's Amanda again... well... I just got off the phone with Jon Pryor's lawyer... and I've gotta head back... I guess we'll have to scratch that vacation for now. Look me up when you get done with Game Over, okay? Bye..."
She hated leaving voicemails... but Candice was a busy woman. Tossing her cell phone into the passenger seat, she almost wondered how Candice's season-ending pay per view was going... probably something that shouldn't be missed. Toronto was something Amanda didn't want to miss... that was a beautiful city.... but... ugh. She knew she would somehow have to have something to do with Jon's death... didn't know why she was trying to escape so quickly... but it all just brought back more memories to keep her preoccupied on the long trek back... Downtown Ann Arbor... Jon's lawyer's practice was just barely off of the University of Michgan campus... Amanda loved this town, even though she didn't really want to be here. It was as fun as Jon said it was, and, well, this isn't the reason why she'd want her first visit to be here. *sigh*
She can only gaze out of the window waiting on the lawyer... she was in Jon's will... that is all that she knows. How someone in their mid-twenties has a will now-a-days is beyond her... she's never put a thought into it at all... but hey, to each his own, right? Jon also had much, much more estate than she could ever dream of having, she knew that much. He was strange enough that he would wrestle full time, have only one house in what could be a very cold Michigan, and drove what he did... but oh well.
"Miss Wallace? Mr. Weinstein is ready for you... He's through the door just to my left..."
"Thanks..."
She gathers her things, silently walking through the door, not much of a smile on her face. She sooooooo didn't want to be here, especially for this. This just brought more closure to him being gone... that she was the recipient of things he would no longer need because he's not here to use them...
"Miss Wallace, take a seat..."
Mr. Weinstein was already digging through a pamphlet when she entered, eyeing her from across the desk as he pulled out a document.
"How are things today?"
"Could be a lot better..."
"I know what you mean... Jon's mother was quite hysterical when she was in here... tough loss..."
"Yeah."
She didn't even want to talk, drumming her fingers on the arm of the chair in front of the desk. Her eyes keep glancing to the outside, the slightly clouded sun inviting her to flee, to head somewhere where she doesn't have to accept the truth, or accept this.
"Well, Mr. Pryor had written this document back in January of this year... in fact even calling me again not even two weeks ago to draft another one after his accident in the ring, Miss Wallace... He wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. Even you, even his wife-to-be. Unfortunately... that appointment had never taken place..."
"I see..."
Of course, Lilith had been missing in action for a long time... she wouldn't be surprised if she was the reason Jon took the route he did...
"Miss Wallace... Jon had left you quite a lot. *ahem*... "To my partner in business, Miss Amanda JoAnne Wallace, I in a clear state of body, mind, and soul, do leave her an amount of Seven and a half... million... dollars...."
"Oh my god...."
She just froze in the chair, more tears being shed over the man that had tried to take FCW from her only months ago... The same man who she had known for all of these years, from when she was in college, to New York... all of it. The reality of him being gone... and the reality that she believed that he still wanted to see her taken care of... all of it just comes crashing down on her, not even listening to the rest of what he was reading from the page. He probably thought FCW was to be running still at that time... it has to explain it... has to...
"Are you alright?"
"Sorry... It's... just real rough..."
"Oh, I understand completely... he was a good friend of mine. I was out there not even a month ago after his first concussion... had dinner at his house and everything. He was a good man... Now.... One thing I need from you, Miss, is an account number..."
Through soggy eyes, she only nods, digging through her purse. Seven... and a half... wow... She knows she has to put that money to good use...

A thickly wooded area on the outskirts of Ann Arbor, Michigan is where Amanda's car sits, idling. She's behind the steering wheel... just, in amazement of what is in front of her. She'd heard great things about this house before... and to be here... there's... nothing even. The detached garage and a pole barn are all that really stands... a massive foundation tells the tale of what used to be. Even with the scorch marks from the blaze.
Becoming a multi-millionare was the furthest part from her mind, shutting off the car and stepping out from it. This was the home of Jon Pryor... was. Every bit of charred lumber had already been taken away, police tape was gone. Pretty much a shut and close case when they found the note, hm? His estate must have paid for this to be cleaned up so fast... she could note that much of the foundation was being scrubbed clean as well. Wet leaves from the recent rain slosh around her feet, crowding the area, parting her path towards the empty lot. Amanda was a bit stunned by all of this... she hadn't even seen how bad the damage was before everything was gone from here.
So much doesn't add up to her even. Especially with a blaze such as what was described... why in the hell was he found almost an hour away? Or... after doing some digging... why the hell wasn't there a funeral for someone like him? She hoped to attend at least a memorial... But even more strangely... she hasn't heard word of a single gravesite for her to visit... nor anywhere where cremated ashes could be dumped at. Nothing...
A small headache rises up... too much going on in Amanda's mind. She had to get out of her... this site made her sick to her stomach. Maybe she would try to call Candice again and get the hell out of dodge for a while... some thinking could be good... [/i]

"God... let's hope this works this time..."
Amanda had been in Ann Arbor for the past few days... really, really wierd college town. Fun though. But, she knew she really had to leave this area. She was having a hard enough time dealing with everything, especially how she managed to become a beneficiary on Jon's will. Who even has a will when they're not in their mid-twenties anyways? Amanda's in her late and she never really thought about it... well, this money might change that, but yeah. She scrolls down the list on her phone, highlighting Candice's number again. She hasn't been able to get a hold of her...
Must be something from Game Over. She, apparently has lost control of her company... maybe somebody could use a vacation with Amanda... [/i]

$-A slow stir as her eyes opened, focusing on the ceiling above her suite. Not the suite she was oh so used to inside of the Angel Towers...No...The events of APW's final showcase had pretty much removed Candice from the make up of APW as a whole it seemed. She now resided in one of the more luxurious hotels near downtown Toronto, the emotions of her father's company escaping her grasp had hit her pretty hard...Even with the few companions she encountered over the previous days, there were clearly those moments where she needed moments of retreat from them during their outings, to...Well...Cry actually. Something Candice hadn't done since hearing of her father's passing almost one year ago...A small grunt was forced from her lips as her arms raised, her hands coming to rest upon her forehead as she turned in her bed, reaching for the ringing phone atop of the nearby night stand. Not even glancing to see whom was calling, she pressed the necessary button to answer the call, bringing the phone to her ear and speaking in a low and groggy voice...-$
"Y...Yes...Hello...?"

"Finally! I was beginning to think you didn't like me anymore..."
Amanda's smile was so wide at this moment. She honestly, really needed just someone...
"Vacation, bitch... something tells me we both need one... It's on me. Promise, it won't cause any financial problems... because, well... I kinda, inherited a bit of money from Jon..." [/i]

$-A deep sigh as she rolled back over onto her back, her eyes still attempting to refocus because of the light shining through the blinds of the hotel room she had resided in for the past few nights. Her voice clearly evidencing her true feelings on how she was feeling at the current time...-$
"Vaca...Vacation?...*sigh* 'Mandy I...I don't know...I'm just not feeling well honey. Can I take a rain check on that offer sweetie?"

"No. You sound like you really need it, and god knows I need it too. Just somewhere quiet... no where extravagent... Hell, we can go find a cottage in some Alaska woods or something that will be quiet. I know we both just need to get away from it all for a few... years... well, days and figure some things out."

"Alaska?...I...'Mandy you don't understand sweetie I'm...I'm just not in any mood to be going on a vacation right now...I...I don't...I just don't think you'd want me spoiling a potentially good time for you right now is all...Why not just go enjoy yourself honey...No need for me to drag you down..."

"Who said anything about a good time? Candice... We really, really need some time away. I mean... I've just... kinda inherited... a lot of money... from someone I've had such mixed emotions about the past year than ever before... from Jon. Look... I don't even know what to do myself... and I really, really think you and I need each other. Anywhere. I'll even come to Toronto..."
She sighs, rubbing the side of her thigh that was cramping up from being twisted up under her. She'd been trying to get ahold of Candice for the better part of the day, not moving from her hotel bed hardly.
"Just, please. Do it for me? I want to do it for you... I know you and I could really, really use each other now. That's all I'm asking... we're friends... please?"

$-The clincher. She rolled her eyes as she glanced over towards the clock standing upon the dresser across the room. She was praying Amanda didn't play the trump card with her on this morning but it seemed as if she had. Now there really wasn't much she could say to force herself to say no at this point, letting loose a deep sigh before she replied...-$
"Okay...Okay...I guess...I guess we could do something...*Sigh*"

$-Another deep sigh as she sat up in her bed slowly, the light shining through the blinds still not well adjusted she replies...-$
"Yeah...Well you don't know how much this SLEEP meant to me but...Guess I'll see you soon then sweetie. Buh-Bye..."
$-The call had ended, Candice sliding up towards the head board of the bed, allowing her back to fully rest upon it before tilting her head towards the ceiling, taking in the events of the past few weeks, and already beginning to conjure just how she'd get past them all. -$
