“Saints of Los Angeles” plays and Cal Crossfire walks out from behind the curtain he was now officially the number one contender for the GCW World Championship and by now most of the wrestling world had realized that this was his motivation for returning to GCW in it’s “hour of need” but what the fans didn’t know was Cal had actually returned and wasn’t pulling in money like many of the “stars” in GCW he was working for free a bid to help GCW survive in the global economic crisis. Cal made his way to the ring he received a mixed reaction as he placed one foot ahead of the other. Naturally Cal was in high spirits as he was a step closer to proving he wasn’t a fluke, and so far he was yet to be pinned or made to submit in his return. Though his win/loss record didn’t count three wins, only one win.
However who that win was over spoke volumes and nobody could have denied that, they could try and would probably fail. Cal now neared the ring steps to which he paused and removed his sunglasses before taking a brief look around the crowd and pointing out a pro Crossfire sign, which was a rare thing to see. Cal then climbed the steps and through the ropes before running to a corner and climbing to the second rope and raising the horns and this was met with both cheers and jeers in equal measure and nobody would have thought that was possible for him. Cal then stood on the rope looking around the crowd absorbing the chorus of his theme music like he tended to do, then he climbed down and reached through the ropes for a microphone.
Cal then walked to the center of the ring but didn’t speak immediately he waited as the crowd reacted to his presence. Cal then thought the crowd had settled down enough for him to address them, and he raised the microphone to his lips and began to speak.
“So at Twilight I won, yeah now I want to cover that for just a moment because there was a few things wrong with how that went down. You see I played to Miss Wallace’s and in face Jon Pryor’s business sense and I got my chance to be the number one contender for the GCW World Championship. Now that part went to plan, Pryor’s ego made him accept that and I would say he didn’t take me so lightly because after all I know he was instrumental to having Wallace put Haven in that match with us. Why? Because he feared that I would beat him so he needed a weak link, cue one Hollywood Haven. Sorry Haven no matter how hard you try you just can’t be me, also this thing you keep saying. Cal is a mini version of me? Dude you are so wrong.”
Cal lowered the microphone as the crowd reacted to that and they didn’t exactly have a lot of love for Hollywood Haven, and Cal smirked as the crowd reacted to his words which given the connection between Miss Wallace and Jon Pryor they were leaning toward agreeing with him. Cal then raised the microphone to speak once again.
“Cal Crossfire is not a mini version of Haven because, A, I am a lot cooler and certainly more attractive than that oaf, B, my hair is a lighter and better shade of blonde, and finally C, C for Championships baby Cal Crossfire has held them and Hollywood Haven the so called Wrestling Rock Star hasn’t.”
The crowd laughed at that because as far as Haven’s GCW career was concerned every word of that statement was true.
“So with that aside, I can see people trying to take my shot away from me because since I returned Pryor has had 3 opportunities to get the title. Now my math may not be the best but a rematch clause means one rematch right?”
The crowd mumbles as they ponder if that statement is right or wrong.
“Well at Global Supremacy I get my rematch for the title I was so royally screwed out of last year, you can boo me all you want but I defended it down to the wire and hell I didn’t deserve to be inside the chamber with those five men. However that is the past and now I am back here standing before you ready to prove that I wasn’t a fluke and honestly you can’t compare my reign to Pryor’s sure he held the belt a while but other than Jack, Jon didn’t have the competition that I did last year and that is a fact. Let’s name the participants in the chamber shall we?”
The crowd cheer as Cal is right that the level of competition that Cal had to face to get his championship was a lot higher than that which Pryor had to beat in getting it and retaining it.
“Let’s start with I don’t know Scott Manor…”
The crowd give a mixed reaction to that name, certainly a big name and unpredictable for sure.
“Yeah faced him recently, Christian Pryce…”
The crowd give a bigger reaction to that name.
“The man that I beat for the LockUP! Championship and went the distance in the chamber with, Shia Storm…”
The cheers grow that little bit louder.
“The only two time GCW World Champion in its history, The Avenger…”
The fans cheer even more as Cal was revealing each name got bigger and bigger.
“And finally my opponent at Global Supremacy and reigning GCW World Champion, MR. JACK!!! JYNDAL!!!”
The fans erupt as they here the name of the GCW World Champion, and as they expect the match between these two superstars to be epic and certainly not disappoint. This was a match fans wanted to see. Cal walks to a corner and the cameras zoom in on him as he leans before making his next statement
“And speaking of my old buddy I guess now would be a good time to get him out here so he can hear my plans to decide the stipulation for our match at Global supremacy so without further ado Jack get your ass out here so we can set this gig up.”
Cal lowers the microphone as he awaits the imminent arrival of GCW’s World Champion.
