Yep, bought one today with my nearly 2 grand back from taxes. Got Unreal Tournament 3 (which is the best one of the entire series) as well as MotorStorm, with a probability of Sd vs Raw if I can find one cheap. Which, leads me to some questions... well, I'll add them as I think of them... but first things first.
Saves: How can I make them so they go onto my computer? (for future reference...)

Just put an USB stick in the PS3 and copy it to the memory card over the savemangement menu

What kind of saves? PS3 or PS2/1 saves?
If PS3, just press Triangle on the save, select copy, then save it onto the Memory Stick/USB Stick you've inserted.
When browsing the USB stick, a folder called "PS3" will be created. Click that, then choose "SAVEDATA". It'll be saved in a folder according the product code found near the bottom of the spine of the case (In my case of the PAL Resistance: Fall of Man, it'll be under "BCES00001_PROFILE".

And I can transfer photos to the stick obviously to use as profile pics, as well as music?

I'm also wondering how to make saves on the PS3 for the PS2 version of SD vs Raw...

Well you have 2 ways to do it ... first if ya got a save on a ps2 memory card you can buy a converter ... its basically a stick where you can put your ps2 meomory card into it.
Create a memory card in the ps2/ps1 folder and then copy the save from the real ps2 memory card to that which you have created in the ps3 That also works backwards ...

Side note? I LOVE having figured out how to run media servers on this thing now... being able to watch actual shows and movies again on my TV for my anti-pay-for cable tv ass is actually gonna be pretty sweet. On a standard def tv, the vids don't look so bad either.
