meh jeff is new as world champion. (another grandslam champion i may add) but we never know, he could be good, or could be pathetic. jeff has come on leaps and bounds since his face painted heel/tweaner turn before SS 08. so yeah looks good. but expect Edge at wrestlemania. he is gonna be champ by then. its just good business to haev the most hated (and loved ) at the big stage. jeff could be up there. but winning the world title is big, but headlining wrestlemania as champ is bigger and jeff is not there yet. expect a two month reign at most. Final note, im glad WWE have made the title pictures so much better this year. as far as new champions goes, CM Punk Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Chris Jericho, 4 names that would normally not be in the mix, and im glad Batista's reign only lasted a day (shortest WHC reign since its return in 2002 FTW Batista owns Chuck Norris)

Honestly, I think wrestling has hit an all time low. Well it has been since the late 90's and early 2000's was over. Ever since the big names kinda went out the door and one brand kinda got sold out. I can say that once The Rock left it seemed the balloon lost its air.
What made wrestling great was the buildup and actually cool storylines to support it. Everyone loves the mouths of professional wrestling. Why do you think fans pull for one or the other? It is either their mouth, their sweet and cool moves, or maybe they can see themselves as that person in one way or another. I think wrestling today is far overrated and far past its prime.
I liked the ones that could not only run their nickel plated mouths but could bring the story in the ring as well with their abilities. And to me that is what is lost from wrestling as well as the ratings. You guys ever wonder why the ratings went from the hottest show each and every week to a 1.6 or lower ratings at times? It isn't too hard to figure out if you really get down to the books and the birth of wrestling on prime time television.
I for one think that Goldberg is way overrated. Maybe the biggest overrated wrestler in the business. Not the best in the locker room either from what I hear. But with big names comes big egos, but that is the business part of it. That is why I believe so much of efed wrestling is just a mirror of the WWE/TNA/WCW/ECW/etc. But those that last in the business and get on top pretty much work their butts off or have that extra something to get where they need to be. That is why I believe the fans love The Rock because of his mouth and slams on people. The reason people love Austin because of how degenerate he was and how he did what he did to the boss and how some fans want to be that way with their own boss. And probably the reason why fans love DX and NWO. Just my opinion but thought I would at least represent my views on the matter.

I can best say for me it lost the magic it had, I barely swing by the sites anymore. I don't really for the lower leagues and indy stuff. I checked out TNA the other day and boy it was the biggest laugh I had in ages. Way-to-go Russo, that'll put a lot of butts on seats. WWE also isn't great IMO, no offence but I'd only watch that for the divas, so obviously not for the wrestling. Going to put this into prospective for you I missed Hulk vs Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 at the time, I watched it later maybe around 96/97 for the first time. The match itself wasn't really good maybe 7 or 8 moves between them, but I can still hooked on watching it and the wrestling fan in me comes out. Nowadays no match get's me excited, even those I watched when I was a WWF fan don't have the "magic" they once had. Sorry its more or less waffle but I get on my soapbox from time to time as you know

I think the biggest reason for the slump in wrestling is the change in demand. In the old Ultimate Warrior days the matches where there to help move the fued along and help "illustrate" the character and it was like that for a while. Also, the highlights of the matches were signature moves or taunts. Hulk Hogan could have been the greatest technical wrestler, but it was the Leg Drop along with him appealing to the crowd with his taunts that people wanted to see in a match.
Now people criticize a wrestler if they have no technical ability now or aren't a "wrestler" like they need that. People say Batista, Cena, ect have no wrestling talent. Uhm knock knock they're brawlers they're not suppose to be wrestlers. Kinda shows even more now that Vince doesn't want his superstars to be called wrestlers or even superstars. They're entertainers.
Bottom line for me. I'd mark out to see Warrior charge down the aisle and lay out Chris Jericho, Batista, Orton, Triple H, or anyone else in Warrior fashion. I'd say biggest thing wrestling lacks is the intensity it used to have. Seems more casual now a days than before.

I'm probably alone in this, but I remember the early nineties in wrestling well, and I'm only 21. A lot of other fans look back on that time and say it was much better or they say the Attitude era was better...I say you're both wrong. I liked those two eras myself but they were just as bad as today if not worse. The product is getting stale, and that's because Vince keeps doing the same old things and all the major companies seem to look to WWE for what to do.
Also a major reason WWE is stale, is they love hiring Sitcom comedy writers instead of people who know wrestling fans. That's why Cena is getting the boring superman "Hogan Push", forcing him down fan's throats. He is aimed at getting the kids, and trying to get them to spend their parents money on crappy merch. The only part that saves Raw for me is Randy Orton, he is getting so much better in his promo and in ring style. ECW I actually like watching, it's actually a pretty good show. You don't have the same old people doing the same old crap. You get newer faces like DJ Gabriel, Jack Swagger ( a fave of mine btw), and Ricky Ortiz. I can't comment on SD! cause I really don't watch it.
TNA...tons of talent on the roster...but such horrid writing it's hard to watch. I watch it, but only to see guys like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe and Awesome Kong (Not a guy I know). Other then that it's really hard to watch.

I have to add something to that Vault, as for TNA yeah it has the talent and when it first started that talent was putting them on the map, with entertaining wrestling. It was the alternative to a soap opera WWE now it's no longer about what made it special. Russo's car crash TV just doesn't cut it any more.
