Shit, Hospital ... time to get out (o2a)

Shelby unlocks her door, then leans over to unlock Jessie's. It was an old car, nothing automatic except for the windows. The car isn't a complete mess, but you can tell Shelby somewhat lives in it, as everything, including the cup-holders looks worn out. She then ignites the engine, inviting Jessie to come inside. She couldn't help but notice that she hadn't phoned anyone yet. "Don't tell me we're going to have to head back inside, and get our hands on your file."

What? ... No freaking way that I gonna do that. No way that I go back in there to catch my file and beside that as far as I have notice they haven’t made up a file yet for me. It looked to me when I woke up, that they had left me to take care of some urgent business … saw a lot of nurses running around as I left the room I was laying in. Heard something from an accident and that it was really urgent … so I guess I got lucky and they didn’t had started to check out what is wrong with me.

Jessie says as she sits down in the passenger seat, right next to Shelby. She let out a loud moan … finally she was safety. JB looks over to Shelby and smiles.

Shelby sighs in relief, "Well, that's great then, nothing to worry about." She then pulls her car of the parking space, and begins to head out of the parking lot. "So, where are we headed? Need me to drop you off anywhere?"

At the tower, I got an apartment there. I guess that is the chase with you as well? I mean, who wouldn’t use an apartment in the GCW tower when the owners are offering you this chance to get one, right?

Shelby softly laughed, honestly, she wasn't aware they doing such a thing. "Actually, I grabbed an apartment just a few miles away from the tower. I wasn't aware they were offering such a thing, they never mentioned it to me." She continues to drive, and the fact that there wasn't any music playing was beginning to bug her. "Feel free to turn on the radio, I'll listen to anything."

Oh really? Well, I think that it not so bad either, that way you can at least relax a bit. I tell you, sometimes it can get real loud in the tower and its not cause a couple is living next to me. Some of the guys are taking everything way to serious and need to show of there manhood by verbal fighting against each other.

She leans forward and turns the radio on. Jessie picks the first sender she is finding, who is playing some sort of Rock, Metal mix … not so bad after all. After she has down that she leans back in the seat and looks out of the window.

You know, … I think I better don’t go back to the tower yet, maybe I should take a hotel room and stay away from the tower for a few days, till I am 100% sure that the guys from the hospital don’t have a file of me and are searching for me. Hm … yeah that couldn’t be such a bad idea after all … and that way I can get to a doctor of my trust who confirms that everything is ok with me … yeah … that doesn’t sound so bad

Shelby nodded, she's been backstage with enough ego-maniacs to know how it must be like to live next door to one. "If you want to save a few bucks, you can always crash at my place for a while. It's nothing special, but it's roomy enough, and the neighbors don't constantly bicker." She then relaxed herself a bit at the wheel before continuing. It was rather late, and she was starting to feel tired. The adrenaline rush from earlier was finally dying down, "Besides, if you need someone to check on that file, I'll be willing to pull a James Bond for day, hell, I have the wardrobe."

Really? You got a suit? ... That’s cool, but I hope we don’t need some James Bond action to take care of this problem of mine.

Jessie answers, her head is moving to the window as she is taking a look out of it. Her face shows how sad and tired she was after all this things that have happened to her today. First a lose, then her collapse in the middle of the ring continue with her little escape from the hospital.

Just hope everything will be fine … as good as it can be when I consider the situation I am into.

Shelby nods, "Oh yes, it's a sexy James Bond suit at that. It was for this Halloween party last year, I don't have the heart to get rid of it." She then takes a turn, heading towards a hotel, "I'm sure everything will be okay, just don't worry about it right now, you've had quite the last few hours. I've learned it's best to think things through after a good night's rest."

She then pauses, allowing the song on the radio to end before continuing, "So how about the offer? Stay with poor little old Shelby Steele in her lived-in apartment, or living amongst the rich in this fancy-pants hotel we're heading towards, where probably millions of people had sex in the bed you're going to sleep in?" She giggled at her little joke at the end, as she continued towards the hotel.

Oh … now that is just … ICK.

Jessie sticks her tongue out … she actually never thought about a hotel that way as Shelby just told her. Millions of people had sex in the bed … that is just disgusting … not the part with the sex of course but rather the thought what disases and other stuff might get spread out in the beds … that was just nasty. She shakes her head …

God damn it girl, give me a break. This was just disgusting. I mean … damn it. That makes me want to puke just by thinking about it. I mean, sex ok … that’s fine, but all this … in one bed… shit. I think I rather take your offer and sleep at your couch before I went in a hotel. Gosh … I think I never will be able to sleep in a hotel now after you told me this horror story.

Shelby laughs at Jessie's reaction, "Blame my father, that was his excuse for being a cheap bastard. We always ended up staying with people he knew whenever we went on our trips. Then again, I don't blame him, I am one of his six children, and his only daughter at that."

She then pulls into the hotel drive way, and turns around, heading back towards her apartment, "We're not too far away, just maybe a seven to ten minute drive."

Good to hear, I really need some rest and maybe a shower. But to be honest with you, I can’t thank you enough for your help … if there is anything I can do for you, just let me know it.

A smile appears on Jessie’s face before she continues to talk a bit more about the part with the father and brothers of Shelby.

Was it hard to grow up with so many people around yourself? I mean, I have grown up pretty much alone … by my mother and she died very early as well, so I was pretty much most of my life alone and because of that I can’t really image how it has to be to grow up with so many people, you know?

[Shelby Danes]

"Well, there was never a dull day in the Steele household, that's for sure. There was always some sort of Riot. For instance, Zach would always want this, and then someone would break a window 'accidentally,' blah, it was always a mess." She then pauses, "When I got into the business, is was like a completely opposite environment. I was not used to being alone all the time. But alas, I've grown used to it. Self-providing. Shopping for my own tastes. Oh, I remember when I first bought groceries for myself. It felt so good to not have the Cocoa Puffs gone within the first 30 minutes they touch the kitchen table."

She then glances towards the tired Jessie and gives her a smile, "What kind of person was your mother?"

My mother? ... That is not easy to describe. She was …

Jessie tilt her head to the side as she tries to remember how her mother was like. She was a very good mother … but she also could give Jessie never the attention that she would have deserved as her child. But on the other side she was working all day long so that both of them had something to eat on their table.

She was great. Very nice, she has worked a lot to give me at least a good childhood. Thanks to her I am the independent woman that I am today, this free spirit who does what she wants … without concerning if it will result in something good or something negative. She was just great … like all mothers I suppose.

Shelby softly laughs, Jessie's mother seemed to be the reason they were in this mess in the first place. "Well, I give her my thanks," she replies, "If it wasn't for this independent attitude of yours, we would have never escaped that damn hospital."

They then arrived at Shelby's apartment, and she swiftly parked the car. "Please excuse the little mess when you step inside. I haven't exactly settled everything down yet, most of my crap is still in boxes and such, scattered in various places around the living-room, and my room, but mostly my room. You're going to love the couch," she then turns off the car, and heads outside. Shelby then bends down to face Jessie, "It's a sectional, meaning you can lay-down in that awesome "L" shape." She pauses and adds, "And lock the door please."
