Source: movies.ign.com/articles/863/863492p1.html----------------------------------------- In my opinion, some games can't be really made into a movie. Now they are making The Legend of Zelda, just like they are making Dragonball Z. If you saw the Trailer LINKed above ( ), then you know this is no bullshit. lol, could be an April Fool joke, but there is much effort into the screenplay in that trailer. Link, Zelda and Ganondorf are all tough to bring to real life. Special effects look great and the theme of Zelda is in there. Any thoughts about a Legend of Zelda Movie?

I agree with that some games cannot be made into movies *cough* Mario *cough* As normally it doesn't please the game fans and sometimes is left in Limbo where neither game fans or non game fans like it. Sometimes I think that half the issues is when there make live action versions, if I were to have thought doing Zelda I would have gone full CGI like Final Fantasy or Cartoon. Because you said Link, Zelda and Ganondorf would be tough to bring to life. However this trailer looks like it might appeal to fans of Lord of the Rings movies. I can't speak for fans of the Zelda games as I never got into it really. If I am honest I cannot recall playing one.
But from the trailer this movie looks interesting.

Sometimes, the marketing campaign just sucks. If they keep a movie in deep secret, revealing just a little bit of information from time to time, it can work just great. Just look at the Cloverfield Marketing Campaign. One of the greatest ever made. Sometimes too, it's the movie itself. Many people thought the Final Fantasy movie would be about Final Fantasy VII, which would have been great. But nooooo...
Squaresoft had create a fucking non-sense story that nobody cares about. The story was poor so it wasn't good for the general audience and it wasn't appealing to the fans either because it was not a Final Fantasy feel to that movie. Same with Resident Evil... They had to change too many things and include that bitch-ass Alice in.
Anyway, if they make The Legend of Zelda, it MIGHT work. Look at the trailer. They need, however, to stay authentic to the games. Bring back elements from it like music and names. It should also be a long movie to cover many details. You don't save a realm in 1 hour and a half...

You don't save a realm in 1 hour and a half... Probably spread it accross more movies, it seems to be the age of a thousand money spinning sequels. Movies always tend to leave me disappointed, I can normally think of a better ending. I liked the Resident Evil movies and yes I am a fan of the game, for me the perfect straight to movie game was Resident Evil 4 for me it had everything that a movie should let alone a game. I have to mention Doom, I enjoyed the movie until it went into the first person sequence it ruined it for me. First Person works for a game in movies I am not so sure it does.

Well, they've already screwed up one thing. Link's supposed to be left handed. April 1st. I don't think the movie's real anymore. Endings can always be better. Always. But some of them are fantastic. Hollywood needs to get out of the same fucking cliche about endings, again and again. Like they did for I Am Legend. Pirates of the Caribbean II had a good ending. Made me wonder about the third one a lot. Producers and Directors often want the movie to end in 'a big way'. Like this is gonna be SO AWESOME AND BIG... Error. That's not necessarily good. Endings that explains many things and events together are always thrilling, like in the first SAW. Anyway... /movierant

It's GOTTA be an April fools joke. Come on it says it'll be in theatre's April 1st 2009. A Wednesday. The biggest Share of movies in the US open on a Friday. Some of the special effects are horrible...IE Ganondorf. Links not left handed...they fucked the story up BIG TIME! Just way to many oddities for this to be real.
