Who Will 'Ascend' to the next level ? (psycho/b.c)

Shortly after Ascension came on the air...

Announcer #1: Welcome back wrestling fans to GCW Ascension. As you may know, we have a big card onMany people speculated if Genesis would even show up tonight ? The last time we saw him was at LockUp being ejected out of the arena by security for an assault on Nick Jones.

Wait a minute fans... I just got word through my headset that a limo has just arrived to the arena ?



The limo pulls up and stops in the driveway. The door opens up and its revealed to be Genesis. He steps out from the limo wearing a cast over his left hand .

Announcer #1: That cast can't be a good sign...

Genesis, tells the limo driver to bring his bags to the backstage area for him as he hoists the Continental Championship over his shoulder. He begins to make his way into the arena and makes a 'B-Line' to the stage entrance.

Announcer #2: Looks like Genesis is coming out to the arena !

Announcer #1: I have to wonder how that cast on his arm is going to affect his match tonight !?

Just as the announcers said that. Genesis' theme music by Puddle of Mudd begins to play. The crowd begins cheer for the champion. He throws his arms up in the air to awknowledge the crowd. Not really showing any signs of his injury bothering him Many have speculated what he would talk about tonight ? We all know that the match is officially signed tonight with him, Psycho, and Colombain. Will he discuss the actions that took place after LockUp ?

We will soon find out...

Genesis enters the ring. Grabbing a microphone with his right hand from a nearby stagehand. His music begins to fade away into the background as he raises the mic to his lips and begins to speak:

Ascension....what a name for a PPV huh ? With a name like that. I wonder, just who tonight out of that locker room would take the chance and 'ascend' to the next level ?

Well.... two people who will not have that honor will be Psycho and Bryan Colombain !

Fans give off a mixed reaction:

Tonight, here we are. I stand here before you with the odds stacked up against me once more. I mean, one month ago. When I captured this 'bad boy' that rests on my shoulder. People thought that Avenger and Colombain, one or the other, would stop me in my tracks. Well, obviously, neither of those men could get the job done.

Avenger is LONG gone.... and Colombain.... roid rage in all , is still trying everything he can to beat me ! Its pretty pathetic !

The Order is dying off one by damn one it seems... The almighty group that once stood here in this ring is beginning to fade off into the sunset. Despite Lionheart coming back into the thick of things. I really don't think the group stands a chance against GCW.... much less YOUR (points to the crowd) Continental Champion !

Fact is, I'm not scared... or not even the least bit WORRIED about those idiots anymore. There yesterday's news... just like any other 'group' that has come and gone in this industry. They had there '10 minutes of fame' and left.

So Bryan... I want this to rest in the back of your mind as you prepare for your downfall tonight. If you don't beat me tonight. As long as I am 'the man' around here. You will NEVER... get another shot from Genesis ! Consider yourself lucky that I was nice enough to give you one last opportunity tonight.

As for Psycho.... your just one big question mark. I don't know if this guy REALLY has what it takes anymore to get the job done ? Maybe in the old days... I'd give Psycho the benefit of the doubt and say you had a 'fighting chance' at least. But the Psycho I see today.... is a shell of his former self. I mean, just a few weeks ago. You were reduced to being Brent Starr's bitch !

Guess what I'm trying to say is..... 'Psycho'..... YOU JUST CAN'T CUT THE MUSTARD ANYMORE PAL !

Again.... yet another mixed reaction from the fans.

Oh yeah... as you fans have probably noticed this little cast on my left hand. This was a direct result of the severe beatdown I gave that little bitch Nick Jones at the end of LockUp. I've broken my index and middle fingers, along with fracturing my hand itself. All in all... its going to take about another month or two to heal completely.

How does this affect me tonight ? Well, the doc's have told me to not go out and compete in my match.

Fans begin to boo. Not liking the sounds of this at all.

But....you fans have followed me for three years now... when have you known Genesis to EVER back down from a fight !?

Exactly....

NEVER !

So tonight, just as advertised, you will see me in action against those two clowns. Broken Hand or not !

Fans now begin to cheer. Also feeling a bit relieved too.

While I do have some legal matters to attend to next month. It will NOT in any affect me coming out to this ring and doing what I do best. And thats give each and every fuckin' fan in this arena or watching at home a good show !

So tonight's Triple Threat/Extreme Rules Match will go as planned ! Whether the doctor's like it or not...

So with this said.... Colombain !.... Psycho !.... come on out and lets get this show on the road !

Wait and Bleed begins playing after a few moments of silence. The crowd gives their mixed reactions, as they dont know what to think of Psycho anymore. Has it truly come to an end for him? Hell, he couldnt even beat Maniac..at his own game for that matter. Was this a sign of things to come? Probably not, but we could be wrong...

He emerges on the stage, to announce his presence. Doing his normal taunting, the fireworks shoot out from the stage behind him. He begings walking down to the ring, grabbing a mic from one of the ring hands before entering the squared circle. After admiring his surroundings, and the title draped over Genesis's shoulder, he begings speaking.

You know Genesis, as much as I hate to admit it, you just might be right. I mean hell, I couldnt even beat Maniac at my own game the other day. It's almost as if something came over me, and I couldnt pay attention. Retirement. It's a pretty big decision Genesis, and believe it or not, before I heard of GCW I was planning on doing just that. I thought I had done enough in this business, until I got word or Global Championship Wrestling. I realized that the one thing I had not completed in my career, and that one thing being a World Champion. Top of the mountain....

I came here with one goal, and that was to win that very title you hold. I could say that Im going to come out here later tonight and take that title from you. Say that you nor Sasquatch has a chance in hell at walking out of here tonight with that title, but what would be the point in that? Really? I mean, come on. We've all done alot in this business, why start degrading our selves to the maggots that sit at the bottom of this company, and complain about never being a "somebody"? I will say this though Genesis. I guarantee Im going to give the both of you the fight of your lives tonight, win or lose. I will walk out of here with my head held high, no matter what the outcome is.

Sighing, he looks around the crowd. Alot of them know that this is going to be a huge match as is..but why not make things a little more interesting? Weapons are getting old, so why cant we use the ULTIMATE weapon in this business?

I like the fact that you have the balls to want to face two beasts in a match that involved everything from chairs to ringbells. But Im not liking that match Genesis. You see...to put on a truly fantastic match for these fans..for this company, we need to make it a little more interesting. I was thinking about something a little more secluded. Something only few have ever won... A match that I myself have never competed in at a live event. I think you know what Im talking about Genesis...

The fans begin chanting "Hell in a Cell". The words could be heard throughout the arena. Would Genesis have the balls to accept?

So whats it going to be Genesis? What are you going to do. I think the fans have already chosen what they'd rather see tonight. Shall we ask them again?

Before Genesis had the chance to answer that question made by Psycho, the ear-shattering "Common State of Inner Violence" by Disarmonia Mundi broke through the sound system, alerting Psycho, Genesis and the Ascension audience on who was approaching. It wasn't long before the modern-day hulk of a wrestler stepped onto the stage. Bryan looked on at his two opponents for tonight's match, keeping motionless on the stage, dressed in his ring gear. The volleys of boos and hatred naturally came tumbling down towards Bryan, a reaction that he has grown accustomed to and quite frankly, welcomes it. However, Bryan had no interest in acknowledging his unloving crowd. The look on Bryan's face was one of fury, with his eyes fixed on the title that rested on Genesis: a prize Bryan has been gasping for a long time. A prize that will put him to rest for good. Standing almost perfectly still, Bryan raised the microphone grasped in his hand, straight to the mouth. He was ready to let loose his words.

"You know Genesis, I've been thinking."

A mock gasp from the audience.

"That time you proclaimed in the bar that it would only be us two tonight in the ring for the title that you carry on your shoulders. I actually gave you a little respect for taking the opportunity to place that belt you hold so dear on the line against me in a straight-up, 1v1 match with no interference. I tried to ignore how the douchebag beside you managed to weasel in the match, even changing the stipulations to suit HIS needs, I thought I could handle that. But then, you suddenly blurt out that if you manage to keep the belt after tonight, I will never gain another shot. The way I see things, you backed out on what you proclaimed to many people inside that bar a 1v1 between us. By bringing in a 3rd party to the mix, you showed your true colours by revealing how much of a coward you are. The way I see things, if you SOMEHOW manage to retain the belt after tonight, I'm still owed a singles match from you. NO excuses. As for YOU..."

Bryan used his free hand to point at Psycho.

"Who the FUCK do you think you are? First you inadvertently waltz into a match that really shouldn't concern you in the FIRST PLACE, and now you try and shape the stipulations to your own ways just to prove that you can still be considered with respect? You truly are scum. The only reason why I'm stopping myself from running down to that ring and snapping your neck, taking you out of the equation, is to see how you go against an opponent you've never faced before: ME. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into boy, and don't be surprised should you find yourself on the end of a career-shattering injury from yours truly. It'll teach you NOT to mess in matters that do not concern you."

Boo-mothafuckin-hoo. You dont always get what you want Colombain. Thing is, no one truly gives a damn what you want. You bitch and complain about me being in this match, so why dont you bring your sasquatch ass down here and try to do something about it?

You see my friend... Everyone know's you've had your chance at defeating Genesis, but everytime you fail. Why should he give you another chance? If I was him, your ass would be sitting last in line.

But you wanna talk about changing the stipulations? I never actually came out here and said this is what were gonna do. I proposed a match to our champion, to let him decide. If he wants to run with it, then good for him. If not, no big deal. Whatever the match type is Brian, Im still going to make sure you dont walk out of here as Continental Champion.

Turning to Genesis, Psycho lowers his mic, in anticipation of the champions responce...

Whoa Whoa Whoa ! Hold on a second there fellas. No need to get too excited. I know you both want to be me and become the world champion. But please.... shut the hell up for once ? You've both have done enough talking for tonight. Now.... its my turn !

I've had a bad week these past 6-7 days. First, I compete in some silly qualifying match, win the thing, and have it taken away from me.

Fine... I can deal with that. No problems at all on that...

Then, afterwards. I get into a backstage brawl with Nick Jones and get thrown in jail. Because of that, not only do I have to deal with legal issues later down the line... but I also injured my hand because of it.

Quiet frankly, if it wasn't for Calvin Crossfire. I'd probably still be there right now.

So bottom line.... I'm not in the mood for any foolishness ! Don't EITHER OF YOU.....piss me off !

Crowd begins to cheer loudly:

If anything, this past week has made me realize something. Since I've become Continental Champion. I've become a little 'too laid back'... even a bit sympathetic in some ways. I mean, I find myself defending a retard last week from Nick Jones. Something COMPLETELY out of character for me.

My god !? I'm the King of Controversy... when have I EVER helped another person out in anything ?

Fact is, I find myself being molded into something I'm not.... I've become one of the 'fans'. It was my mistake... to ever let these fans turn me into a soft-minded creature.

Rest assure.... soon......REALLY soon..... the Genesis of 'old'.... is coming back to town. No more bullshit..... no more jokes..... no more '2nd chances' (looks over to Colombain).....no more distractions....and no more fans !

Crowd begins to boo now.

Three years ago..... Brandon Payne became GENESIS !

I 'was' the King of Controversy..... ruthless.....cold-hearted......despised by others. Frankly, the biggest ASSHOLE to ever step foot inside this squared circle.

When I look at what I have become in the past several months.... it sickens me. I've become a shell of my former self. I thought.... when I won the title. It would elevate me to bring me back to the 'warrior' I once was. Yet instead.... I found myself with an empty void inside of my heart. Something.... just wasn't right. I stood amongst both Avenger and Colombain as the victor. But.... I just didn't have that same feeling.

The fire that once burned violently inside me.... started to flicker and
die.

As we all three stood in this ring at Mayhem... in the back of my mind. Physically ? I'm ready for any battle that comes my way....

Mentally ? I think I'm starting to lose my edge. Though I may sound like a hypocrite when i say this... perhaps... just like Psycho. Maybe.... Brandon Payne......'Genesis'.....the once proud 'diamond in the rough'.... is beginning to lose its luster.

Announcer #1: Whats Genesis getting at here ?

Announcer #2: I think he is finally starting to break down... I've never seen Genesis act like this before.

As for the match tonight. Hell in a Cell.... is perfectly fine by me. I'll gladly.... take you both on. Will I pull another 'comeback' and find a way to beat either one of you tonight ? Even I.... for once in my career.... don't know that answer.

I knew going into this match... that the odds would be stacked against me. But the 'odds', are more then even the two of you can imagine !

Genesis drops the microphone and exits the ring. Fans are left puzzled.... dumbfounded. Genesis, always went into every battle with the a will to win. Always full of confidence in his own ability.

However...

Tonight... we find Genesis questioning that very same ability that got him to the top. If Genesis pulls out another victory, what will become of our champion ?

If he loses...

Will Genesis ever......be the same again !?

Bryan rolled his eyes. Despite never seeing this kind of attitude from the Continental Champion, Bryan's seen it all before.

"Oh wah wah fucking wah."

At this point, Bryan began imitating Genesis in terms of voice.

"Hey, look at me! I may be the Continental Champion, but I still feel dead inside, like a piece of me died and was sucked into my belt, but will try and suck it out in tonight's match!"

It was even accompanied by some strange hand movements. Soon after, Bryan returned to his original voice.

"It's a pathetic act Genesis, so drop it. It's just giving me more reason to beat you senseless and place that title across my waist instead."

The sentence was finished with a simple snort. The brute of a man was not finished though.

"As for you Psycho, taunt and psyche me out all you want. I am saving all my energy for the ring tonight. Whilst the idea of a pre-match beatdown sounds tempting, I'm gonna have to decline there. I'll just make sure that you'll get some attention during the match as well. You know, scrape your face against the wire mesh, then smack it into the ring post, that kind of stuff. But as of now, no, I'm going now, to PREPARE for this match, and leave you two to kiss and make-up. I'll see you two bitches tonight in that ring."

A sadistic smirk. Feeling he's done his job toying with his two opponents, Bryan lowers his microphone and turns his back to them. Walking towards the curtain, he heads for his locker room, allowing Genesis and Psycho to have some "quality time" together with each other.
