Scene: Backstage area during live taping of LockUp!
After putting the LockUp! "Champion" in his place with the blockbuster announcement of passing up a shot at the title, Miles Divine is on cloud nine. Backstage personnel are whispering amongst themselves as they see him walking nonchalantly by them. They couldn't believe that someone would be so bold that he'd deny a champion who was willing to give him a title shot. Talk about crazy and unexpected.
Miles wasn't stupid. He's not going to put his well being on the line in a match type that's bigger than the champ himself. And since that chump isn't a betting man, Miles knows full well when the odds are in his favor to go for the gamble. In this scenario, they aren't, so no thanks.
He comes up to a monitor that shows three last minute matches being announced. They were the Ascension Main Event Qualifiers for the LockUp! brand. Three superstars from LockUp! would do battle with the three MayheM superstars that qualified a week ago, in a match that exemplifies the word Ascension (the name of the upcoming Pay Per View show) down to a T. Ladders galore, where high above the ring, about 15 feet to be exact, they'll be a suitcase that guarantees the winner a place in the main event of GCW's grand-daddy of them all, Global Supremacy I. On that fateful night, a champion and icon would be born. Two words, peeps, Miles Divine.
Nevertheless, despite Miles thinking that he had the night off, Masters yet again is making sure that Miles is featured, because she knows where it's at, pitting him in a three way dance with a Jack Jyndal and a Jean Bordeux. All he had to do is get through those two and he'd be in the Ascension main event. Should be easy enough, eh? But bless Masters' little heart that she's realizing how important Miles really is for the LockUp! show. He begins to wonder what'd he be up against with whoever those two saps he had to face tonight were.
His eyes then fall on the other two qualifiers. He quickly sees the name Sheetah Storm in one of the qualifiers. Aww, how cute. Masters is giving that fool a shot too after being embarrassed out there? And looky here. The odds are stacked up against Sheetah more than they are on Miles. A fatal four way? Nice. He won't stand a chance.
Guess this means I have to get out there once more, Masters sure is sneaky giving me more airtime to boost those ratings of hers, and call out the two boys I have to wrestle tonight. And to think, Miles Divine thought he was done for the night. A superstar's job is never done...
He sighs and lingers about, waiting for the first match of the night to end so he could segway into a promo shoot.
Does this place even have any backstage correspondents Miles Divine can speak with? Geez this place is lacking.
