Here’s a riddle for you, what do you get when you combine Jennifer Drew, a free ticket to New Orleans circa Mardi Gras, and no work responsibilities?
You get a couple really long days in Chicago when she gets back.
Jennifer was in a desperate struggle to get back to business after it all. She had found time to go through her usual training routines as much as she could but it just wasn’t the same there, what with all the non-stop revelry. All that meant was that it wouldn’t be long before she recovered, it would just feel that way for her. That’s what she told herself as she sipped a cup of coffee and half-heartedly went over that day’s Tribune on one of the couches in the GCW Tower lobby, having already told herself she’d been productive enough for the day. If anyone happened to stop by to chat on her break she'd be pushing the line into "efficient".

A sound is heard nearby. The sound of a bell that rung once and only once. That sound came from an elevator that found it's way to the bottom floor in the GCW Tower Lobby. The door slides open. A man steps out. That man being Tha Infamous 187. Not really too happy with the past MayheM. He had been beaten so quickly. Was he mad? Maybe. Did he have a good reason? He believed that the vengence in his mind had clouded him mind during the match. The thought of the rat being the person who attempted to take his life had gotten to him. Lost focus. Lost his concentration. Ended up taking a loss because of it. It didn't mean anything. It didn't. Bruiser got lucky. It was probably in his game plan to have screwed with 187's thoughts. But that was the past. He'd deal with that fool later. Now? He needed air. He needed to be about. He didn't have a show to be at for a week. Unless scheduled for some House Show. He found that unlikely. But it was possible. He found himself back in Chicago. Inside of the GCW Tower. Back to the depths of his solitude. He emerged from it now. Needing to stretch his legs. Needing to get out of his suite. He found himself in the lobby now. Leaving the elevator. He began walking towards it. A familiar face caught his attention. A certain bright haired female had caught his attention. Oh yes. He recognized that face anywhere. They've had several encounters in the past. Looks like now was going to be no different. Let's see how we've been, shall we? He begins to walk over to Jennifer. Making his way to where she was seated. Slipping his hands within the pockets of his hooded sweatshirt. He stopped infront of where she sat. Cracking a smirk on his lips. Looking down at the pink haired Jennifer. He simply greeted her with...
"Well... Hello, hello stranger...."

Wow.
She drops the paper and studies him up and down. A familiar face and one she was very happy to see up and about, to be sure.
So you are actually alive. You know I watched you in the ring those couple of weeks and I thought you were just CG but I guess I have to believe it now… Unless this is a chromakey GCW lobby.
Jennifer studies the walls looking for the telltale signs, blue paint, invisible body parts, lack of depth and finds nothing of the sort, very reassuring.
But I mean, that would just be ridiculous right?
Yeah…
Why don’t you take a seat? So... I guess it would be kind of stupid of me to ask how things have been since we saw each other last.
Getting shot was kind of a touchy subject, right?

"Heh, heh... Surprised, I take it?"
That was a new one. Better than the last few that he's heard. All claiming to have heard he died or believed he was supposed to be dead. That was definitely a good one. He began to nod his head. Deciding to take that seat that she had offered. Plopping himself right next to her.
"That's one I haven't heard before. Not the usual, "You're alive? I heard you died," story that people seem to keep pitching towards me everytime I meet someone from back up North."
Nodding his head. He looked over at her. Shrugging his shoulders.
"I've seen better days. Hell, some call it. Worse than hell, would be what I call it. Heh. But I've been alright these days. Seen better days. But I can't complain."
He shrugged his shoulders. No need to bust out the tortured and starved prisoner sad sob story. A story none would believe. Better to play it cool.
"How about you? What's new with Jenny Drew?"

Oh, you know me, taking it easy between cutting the occasional swath of destruction through a new crop of girls. And I’ve got to tell you I’m having a lot more fun at it than I have in a long time. I’m sure that’ll hit you when the whole… uh, unimaginable nightmare ends.
Smooth. Maybe she was just a little nervous discussing it and maybe, she thought he didn't want to relive all that.
So, you said ran into some more people from way back when, huh? How is everyone? I mean I’ve seen people around but I think so far I’ve run into, well you and Tosso *shudder* so I’m way out of the loop.

Unimaginable nightmare ends? That won't happen. Not now anyways. Maybe when he's got that enemy who attempted to take his life infront of him. Pistol in his mouth. Letting him beg for mercy before the inevitable painting the walls with his or her brains. But that was later. No need to mention it. A bit scary how a broken mind thinks, eh? He just nodded his head.
"Nice, nice. Showing them girls how it's done in the ring as you've always done."
Always got to give credit where credit is due. He's always believed she was great. She was one of the better talents in the ring in the women's division he's seen.
"Let's see... Well... Amanda Wallace, of course. Joe Bruiser. I'm sure you've seen. Seen Eliza Halcroft wandering through Chicago. She wasn't there up North, but she was back over in New York. Pretty sure you might remember her. Other than that? I haven't seen anyone in person. I've seen a few people doing their own thing on screen. Those two clowns, Psycho and Blaze. Or whatever the hell they decide to call themselves these days. The fool Genesis is here. Calls himself Brandon Payne or something. Uhh... Who else...? Hmm... Oh yeah. Supposedly Buck and Vegas are around. Amanda said they were, but uh... I haven't seen them yet. There's probably more. Those are the only ones I have actually heard or seen are here."

You win. I hereby cede the Running Into People We Used To Work With Title to you and I’ll get you the RIPWUTWW Title belt next time I see you.
She gives him a little bow.
But that’s a pretty good number. Damn, Eliza Halcroft? Seriously? I didn’t even know about that. Going back to the “good” old days with that one.
She said as she made a mental note.
So, have you had a change to hang out with Kenisha since you’ve been back?

"Kenisha..."
...He says in a low voice. Kenisha. Damn. He hadn't really made an attempt to get in contact with her or even look for her suite since he's gotten here. Too busy with revenge on his mind, he had completely neglected the fact that Kenisha was in this company as well. No one told him. But how would he not know? They were both on MayheM. Of course, he was going to notice her being around here. He had been too busy with his own internal struggle and his own personal intentions for being back in this business.... It hadn't even occured to him that he did not even try to get in contact with her. She hadn't tried to with him. He didn't blame her if she knew. She was probably scared of him. She knew him. He had changed. In appearance, and inside. He didn't know how to answer that. He figured he'd go with whatever came to mind. Can't sit here and ponder his thoughts and completely forget that Jennifer exists. He looks back at Jennifer, responding with...
"Nah. I haven't really had a chance to. Things get busy. Time gets cut short. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get around to it."
Lies. Lies rolled off the tongue with ease. He had time. He had plenty of time. But he had been too involved with his plots of murder to even acknowledge Kenisha had even been in the same country as him. That wasn't good to mention. Hey. I'm planning on killing people in the future. I'm too busy to even notice that the woman who is in love with me is in the same building or even the same vicinity as me. That wasn't good. He'd have to do that later. Slide that in an open space of time.
"Have you seen her around? You know how she's doing?"

She got the feeling that was just another button. Jennifer just smiles and tries to press on not sparing him the ramble.
Just out in the ring, but we’re kind of in different touring camps, you know. Rah, rah LockUP! is the greatest show in the history of television, et cetera, et cetera. Besides, I’m sure she’s super busy what with her own training, and moving out here and you all the stupid stuff they expect us to do on a daily basis. Plus, come to think of it I don’t really know her that well… or at all. But, I’m sure she’s great. We should call her sometime, maybe go get some drinks if that’s her thing.

"True. They love to run us ragged. Definitely like getting their star power to make appearances and run all over the world to get their name out there."
Nodding his head. He's been there already. Not too many times someone comes back from the "dead." Of course, GCW was going to exploit that beyond belief. He's been around since returning. It was no excuse for not seeing or contacting Kenisha though. Phones worked just as well as being in the flesh.
"Yeah. That'd be nice. Go out. Reminisce. Been in three separate companies together. Got plenty of memories to go on about. Have some drinks. Non-alcoholic for her though. She hates the taste of alcohol. Heh, heh. Can't tell ya how many times she's yelled at me for coming home and barely being able to keep myself standing on my own two feet. Heh, heh. Ya know?"
Good memories. Been a long time since he's had any of those. Good times, good times. Might be time to replace some of these horrible ones with new ones.
"Betcha already have been giving them girls hell since you got here, huh? Always do. That whole "Alpha Female" thing catching back up with you around these parts too?"

That was one source of anxiety she didn’t have to deal with here. Luckily all that talk had died down a while ago, and she shakes her head laughing trying to remember how all that even got started.
No, I’ve absorbed a few strategic beatings here and there so I don’t have do deal with that any more. Now, I’m supposedly a seasoned veteran, which I guess is cool. It does feel like I’ve been doing this a really long time. And so have you, and so has she. Weird, huh?

Ping
~The elevator doors quietly slid open and the not so quiet combat boots of Lessien Melwasul stepped out from the carpet to the lobby tiles. Her steps were heavy, just like her eyes behind the lenses. Eyes filled with pink as she turned her head towards a small gathering. Pink. Was there a worth color? Yes, bright pink followed by neon pink followed by Jennifer Drew's particular shade. Veteran Slide Pink as opposed to Veteran Rise Green which was, of course, Betty's favorite color.~
Slow buds the pink dawn like a rose.
~Alice whispered to Betty, not that either cared who could hear.~
I fell off my pink cloud with a thud.
~Betty muttered back, keeping her eyes on the prize as she slowly walked by. That Cheshire grin spreading with each step.~

There she was, the Debutante Champion of the world. The woman Jennifer was supposed to be gunning for, the one she was supposed to hold a grudge with since she wasn’t quite able to get the job done at Exodus. She turned away from 187 for a moment and shot Lessien a concerned look and a nice warm smile.
Ow, I did that once. Almost broke my leg. I tell you they don’t make those pink clouds like they used to do they? You need an ice pack for that?

~Lessien slowed down even more as Betty looked over.~
No need Lover. I landed on my ass. The real question is, where did you land after the big, bad fall?
The dark side of the moon?
My guess was Guam, but close enough. Now we can get it straight from the source's mouth.
~Alice stopped them completely. Who wouldn't want to wait for the answer to that?~

Jennifer just nods as if this all made a certain kind of sense on a very literal level.
Guam, yes. You’ve been reading my Wikipedia page haven’t you? It’s lovely in the winter and it's a perfect place to set up residence as a tax dodge. You know you start to believe that the people at the top of the heap just don’t care about we little people but then something like this happens and it just changes everything.
