Some Kind Of Mistake?

<·†·>She was sitting in her locker room, rubbing her hands on her knees. She had heard the news. She was in a 10 Person Over The Top Rumble for the MayheM Championship. How? She didn't understand it. She was a rookie. Eighteen years old, by far, most likely, the youngest superstar in GCW with a track record of 0 wins and 3 losses. Yet she was still qualified for a title oppurtunity? She didn't understand it. It had to be some kind of mistake in the paperwork or something.

...Right?

It had to be. She was still pretty much inexperienced to actual in ring competition. Big time in ring competition. Small time feds were easy. Crowds were smaller, less nervousness. But this was large scale, the crowds were over what she was used to by thousands. Tens of thousands even. She sighed. She had to get rid of her jitters somehow. Someway. She stood up from the bench in her locker room of the Scottrade Arena, brushing the skirt part of her attire off on the front and back before leaving the room. Food. Drink. Something, she needed either one. It'd help.

Walking down the halls of the arena, she was greeted by several of the hard working staff. The ones that go unseen and hardly ever get any credit, other than their paycheck. She greeted them in return, as nice as she possibly could. It didn't take long for her to arrive at a catering table. Several cups of drinks were lined up, she picked one up, containing 7-Up and took a sip. She smiled slightly at the taste and took a seat nearby the table.tapping her right foot against the floor gently as she took another sip.<·†·>

"Its gotta be some kind of mistake..."

<·†·>She kept repeating the words over and over in her head. She even once tried to tell herself she was dreaming. But no matter how many times she did say it was a mistake, or try and pass it off as a dream, her name was on the line up and it certainly wasn't a dream. She sighed out and took a large gulp of the soda down before leaning back, resting her head against the wall.<·†·>

"Hooo boy.."

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Oh, come now... don't tell me you don't think you deserve a chance to show everybody what you're made of, don't you?"

Amy was mere feet from Isadora, watching her every reaction from her inevitable push into the spotlight...

"That is, after all... what's great about this company. They even give the little guy a chance..."

[Bou]

<·†·>She tilted her head to the side to look at the person who was talking to her. Amy Rhoades.<·†·>

"Well... I don't think I do. I mean, I haven't even won a single match... I know that's not everything, but... It helps when it comes to deciding these kinds of things right? So, unless I've really impressed Miss Banks or someone else in power, I just don't see why they picked me."

<·†·>Depressed? No, she wasn't depressed. Confused was a better word. Morbidly confused at that. She lifted her head off the wall for a moment before letting it fall back against it gently, not enough to hurt herself, but to get something out.<·†·>

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Well... if it makes you feel any better... it's not like they have many women to pick from yet...

You're a pioneer here. One of the few, and probably the youngest and smallest. I wouldn't let that take anything away from you though... Hell, show 'em what you've got. I heard you're only 18, right? Take that age, take that youth, and shove it up their ass, I say. You've been given a shot, take it..."

[Bou]

"Yeah... I'm only 18. And I guess you're right. I should be happy about it. I am, deep down, but still its.. just so sudden it kind of just confused me really. Heh. I shouldn't be letting it worry me though, like you said, I should just take the oppurtunity head on. I know you probably already know my name, as I know yours, but we haven't officially introduced ourselves. Isadora Valentine. Pleasure to meet you."

<·†·>And with that, she extended her free hand, the one not holding the cup full of soda.<·†·>

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Amy Rhoades, the pleasure is mine..."

She takes the girls hand, nodding to her...

"Look, I used to be a trainer for a really, really big fed after losing my developmental deal... if you need some pointers, don't be afraid to ask..."

[Bou]

"Well, I have plenty of training. Did a course of 16 months. But advice and the like never hurts. So, if you'd like to part some words of wisdom feel free. Such as, how should I go about a over the top royal being the smallest person there, especially when a few guys are in the mix?"

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Honestly? Throw the biggest one out. Show them that it isn't about the size, or the gender. It doesn't matter how you have to do it, just do it and prove your point."

[Bou]

"So, go after the biggest one. Male or Female. Got it. Any other advice for that type of match other then the usual, don't get eliminated bit? Cause, I'm going to try my best not to. Heh."

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Once you make your statement? Stay the hell away from everybody until you see an opening to surprise someone... any way you eliminate someone is an elimination. A win's a win..."

[Bou]

"Hehe. Alright then. I'll do that. Or at least I'll try to do that. And if I do get eliminated, as long as its in the last 6, I'll still get a shot at another title the same night... So, if I don't happen to win it, I just need to survive long enough. Sounds so easy when spoken doesn't it?

I saw your name in the Debutante Tournament. I want to go ahead and wish you good luck in that."

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Thanks, I was just on my way to talk to Miss Banks about that too... good luck in your matches. I hope I see you around, maybe with some gold around our waists..."

[Bou]

"That's really wishful thinking for me, but I'll keep my head up and try not to get distracted with anything. The lights, the huge crowd, all of it. I've never been in a big scale promotion, only little ones that house no more than 200 people.

I won't keep you tied up any longer since you gotta meet with Miss Banks. But thank you for the kind words Amy.

If you're not doing anything later, would you like to hang out sometime? Or maybe in a couple of days after the show? We could get to know each other better then."

[Amy "Sapphyre" Rhoades]

"Um... yeah, I could do that. Hey, if I win, I'm having a huge victory celebration, so, you should come. I'll slide you some beer or something if you want some, but if not, it's all cool..."

She nodded, sliding her hands into her back pockets...

"But, yeah, I've got a directory up in my suite, so I'll look you up, since I'm in a little bit of a hurry. But it was nice meeting you, and I'll definitely take you up on that offer. It never hurts to help mold some of the younger stars that aren't all ego..."

[Bou]

"It was nice meeting you too. And if do win, I'll definitely come to your celebration thing. Good luck once again Amy and I'll catch ya later. Thanks once again for the advice."
