Meeting my tag team partner (Shelby)

[Nicole Storm]

Miss Storm … Miss Storm … please wait.

I have just entered the arena and was heading in the direction of my locker room as a young man starts to come running in my direction. He was shouting my name as well and ask me to wait, so I stopped and turned around. They guy turned out to be one of the crew members … he had a message for me which was writing on a piece of paper. I thanked him and after he has left I continue to walk to my locker room. While I was doing that, I open the letter … it was a message for me that I will be in a match tonight for the house show.

Miss Storm.

You are having tonight a match with Shelby Steele against the team of Jennifer Drew and Angel Storm. As far as I know you and Miss Storm … 2 Miss Storm, that is a bit ironic and funny in some kind of way, but that is not the point. The point is that tonight you will face your counterpart in tag team action … because of that I have informed all 4 of you via a letter about the upcoming match so that you have some time to prepare yourself for it.

Tag team match?

I spoke that out loud as I was walking down the corridor of the arena. That was a bit unexpected, but on the other side I know both of my opponents good enough to know what lays in front of me. But this Shelby Steele … I don’t know much about her. Just saw her wrestling a few times in GCW … and as far as I have seen it was quite impressive. After I have reached the locker room and put my stuff in the locker I leave the room to search for the locker room from my tag team partner.

Shelby Steele … where is her room? I though while I was walking down the corridor, inspecting one door after the other until I have found the right one. A smirk appears on my face as I knock on the door. I only hope she is already here.

Knock Knock.

[Shelby Danes]

Shelby was feeling a tad excited. Tag-team wrestling was one of her favorite types of match-ups, and the fact that she was teaming up with Nicole Storm, a submission-style wrestler like herself, made her a little nervous. She had to prove herself, and after her match with Jennifer Drew, just a week ago, she had to prove that she wasn't someone's rag-doll.

Lacing up her boots, she hears a knock on her door, and jumps. She didn't have a t-shirt on, and only the lower half of her wrestling gear was on. Grabbing a t-shirt, to hide her bra, she yells from the other side of the door. "Come on in." People always seemed to barge in at the wrong time, she shook her head, first it was lunch last week, and now it's in the middle of getting dressed.

As I heard a voice coming from inside of the room, … I think that must be Shelby as it is her locker room, … so Shelby tells me that I can come and because of that I open the door. I take a quick look into the room and see Shelby standing inside of it … a quick move with my hand and the door is completely open … I step inside of the room and close the door behind me. A smile appears on my face as I offer my hand for a handshake.

Hello Miss Steele .. I am Nicole Storm. We both are having a tag team match today and I just wanted to pass by and see hello.

[Shelby Danes]

Shelby let out a polite sigh, what's with people being so formal around here, it didn't make sense. Shaking her hand, she gives Nicole a smile, "Hello Nicole, feel free to call me Shelby, it's not like I'm the single mother of two." Pausing for a moment to straighten her t-shirt, she continues, "Sorry if I seem a little rushed, I wasn't expecting a visitor to be honest."

A smile appears on my face as I shake the hand of the woman in front of me. I nod with my head as I hear that I can call her Shelby and so I response.

Nice to meet you Shelby and sorry for the Miss, but you know how we people are from England. Always nice and formal with that what we are doing and the way that we are talking to other people and … its ok the way you are dressed. This is a locker room after all. So how is it going?

[Shelby Danes]

"It might just be a locker room, but you still have to be conservative about yourself, right? This conversation wouldn't be that comfortable if I had nothing by my bra on." Shelby asked, nervously smiling, "I'm doing alright, my back still hurts a bit from last week's post-match beating, but other than that, I'm fine as can be." She gives Nicole a thumbs up, "How about you?"

I am fine too, have just spend the week with my daughter Denise and an old friend of mine … I think you know her, you have faced her at the Exodus PPV, Jessie Blair.

I slowly walk over to the bench and sat down.

And I think I just know to well how much a back can hurt … as mine was hurting like hell as well. But non then less I was very impressed from your performance at the PPV. To bad that you haven’t won the title … but I guess that is just a matter of time.

[Shelby Danes]

Shelby was surprised, was she finally getting noticed? Being modest, she replies, "No, no...honestly, I don't feel like I'm title material, if anything, Jennifer deserves it, she went through hell last week. After that beating I took, I thought she was going to take it all, she was just...possessed." She stands up a bit to stretch her back, and then sits back down, "How is Jessie by the way? She must be stoked that she won her first major title." Funny, just a month later, the woman she beat was already a champion.

[Nicole Storm]

Hm … she is quite happy about it. It is like a big burden has fallen from her shoulders. The girl had a rough time … and I think finally everything comes together for her. She has a job, can wrestle, has a relationship … and now success as well. The girl is quite happy about it.

Well at least for somebody who … damn I don’t wan to think about it. I just shake my head and start to smile as everything is all right.

Luckily for Nicole, Shelby didn't see the look of doubt on her face as she completed her sentence. Shelby's boots now laced up, she sits back up, and faces Nicole. "Ah, so she patched things up with her. That's nice. I was beginning to wonder what had happened when she left my apartment a couple weeks ago. She must feel great to finally be rid of those inner-demons." Shelby forced a smile, I guess Jessie and her weren't as close as she hoped. Hell, it was only a night and a day, it's nothing to form a friendship over. But a call...a call would have been nice. Shelby shrugged, Jessie didn't seem like the type to call people anyways. She decided to change the subject, "I didn't know you had a daughter, must be quite the handful having to take care of someone."

[Nicole Storm]

Well that is new for me that she has stayed by you Shelby. She hasn’t said a anything about that, but on the other side she isn’t a person who talk a lot or tell people something that they don’t need to know. Has always been like that and I guess she will never change … so you two are friends?

And it is not so difficult to take care of such a nice girl as Denise is. All you have to do is to have enough ice cream around to make her happy.

Shelby pauses, she was actually really unsure about it. Not even mentioned, hmm. "Well, I maybe not exactly, I would more-or-less call it being there when she needed someone to be with someone the most." She popped a smile, "Children and their ice-cream, they're just never going to be satisfied. How old is she?"

[Nicole Storm]

That is good to hear ...

A smile appears on my face as I run with one hand through my red hair. Its good to know that Jessie has finally find a few new friends after all this years of staying to herself.

Denise is 5 years old and she is really difficult to deal with … she wants to know everything, wants to see anything but most of the time its about to get some ice cream. Which I can’t be mad off as I like Ice cream as well.

Shelby smiled. Her older brothers' children were always asking questions, always curious, wanting to know how exactly this world ran. Sometimes, Shelby wouldn't even know how to answer the question. "Five year olds are always so cute, especially when they're little girls. You can buy cute little dresses, and cute little shoes, and you can play with their hair. Especially when they have a slight speech impediment, it's always fun to make them say a word that has that letter that they cannot say."

Oh … I think Denise is not so much fun … she got her own head like her mother. If this is something good or not I properly will see in the future. The girl is already very independent, which could be the result that I have to travel around so much and my Dad … who takes care of her is not exactly that type of person who raise a girl the way a girl should be raised. I mean, it has worked by me … but I want to give my little girl a normal childhood as well … not just travelling around and learning to wrestle before she can even walk …
